Round 2 Who Would You Rather Have: Alperen Sengun Or Chet Holmgren?

I think most teams would take Chet. Elite defense and shooting is such a luxury and he can pretty much fit into any lineup. I think Sengun is going to be an elite player for a long time but he’s probably not as versatile and portable.

If I had Holmgren I'd want to trade him before the injuries keep mounting.

There is a quote in Silicon Valley "My uncle told me I look like someone strangled a virgin to death". Thats Chet. Hes way too frail, will have missed ~2/3 of his career games, and plays too physical to holdup given his frame.

Yeah I agree. Our eye test must be on a bell curve because Chet has the luxury of playing off of SGA and Jalen Williams.

Sengun runs the set offense and plays with FVV and Jalen Green.

Why would anything have changed? It's never going to be Sengun

Be cause the sticking point last yr was people thinking Chet missing his rookie season due to injury was a one off thing.

Andrew Wiggins just broke him for crying out loud and he's out until maybe the All Star Break at the earliest.

Availability has to factor in.

Chet will be the sexy pick here. but its hard to ignore him missing a single full season and possibly another this year (if not, he'll miss the vast majority). 2/3 seasons derailed by injuries doesnt make for a great outlook

A system with intrinsic flaws, that can't be easily hidden in the playoffs.

A system with Chet can be flawless, and in fact... exploit other system's flaws.

Chet pretty easily. A 7 foot efficient shooter with DPOY level defense and elite portability? Yeah, I'm taking him all day long. But I'm also a Spurs fan and I think he would fit seamlessly next to Victor.

Sengun is impressive in his own right but I feel he is a player you have to build around to maximize his talent whereas Chet can probably start on just about any team regardless of their composition. Overall it's close but imo Chet is just a more versatile player

Tough choice, guess it would come down to how you think each will develop. Right now Sengun is better imo

I trust Sengun to stay healthier when asked to play a main role. Chet is better for a more stacked team as he has better supporting skills (defense and 3 point shooting).
