I have no issue letting Saquon go. It was a necessary evil. But damn it stings. Especially when the narrative is "Giants chose Jones over Barkley"

Barkley going to the eagles is what stings the most but nothing we could do about that.

Hard knocks comes off really bad. Some of those episodes they are acting like they are building a super team. "We are not paying Daniel Jones $40mil to hand the ball off to a $12mil RB".....I mean, we shouldn't be paying Daniel Jones $40mil in any situation

We really need to clean house.

Schoen and Daboll need to go but Mara needs to also fire his damn relatives in the front office too.

I know correlation isn't causation but the timing of Mara hiring Chris Mara to be the senior personnel consultant and the Giants falling off a cliff is hard for me to ignore.

Take the #1 pick, salvage what little talent we have and start over. The situation is bad but getting Jones off the books and still having AT, Dex, Malik, Tracy, Phillips, etc to build with really shouldn't be hard for a competent regime to handle.

Yea, ownership is a big problem. Reminds me of Dolan before Rose came in. Def seems like there's been a lot of meddling. They need to focus on finding the right independent front office and then stay out of the way.

Giants do have some good pieces though. Need to find the right QB and put the rest of the puzzle together.... Easier said then done, but not the worst situation.

He is the type of dude that interviews well, but once they get the Job you can clearly see they cant handle it. Like his only mark here is that he got Electronic Drafting Equipment ? lol

Im not trying to toot my own horn, but this was an obviously a bad move from the Jump, because it was NOT GENUINE in nature. People really dismissed the fact the Giants were bringing black coaches with NO intention of hiring them at some point. Its why FLores was so pissed he started a law suit cause he saw it was just pandering and it was not sincere. Maybe it was sincere at one point with Mara, but he switched gears real fast. People were were cheering hard for this Duo that summer and dismissed the giants playing with the rooney rule. Just cause they wanted some fake ass wonder duo from Buffalo. What pissed me of the most was Leslie Frazier cause they were doing it up till the end. It was so Obvious the Giants were pump faking.

I tell no lie. I Still have a sour taste in my mouth with this organization as a black man from that summer.

I believe they interviewed Flores while not being serious. But I don't think it was because they just wanted to meet the Rooney Rule. Schoen was always gonna hire Daboll. That was the rumor before he got hired here. Every interview that wasn't Daboll most likely wasn't serious.

I also think Flores is a mid head coach that doesn't get along well with players with an extensive history of guys from the Steelers/Dolphins not liking his style. I think the Mara's are a lot of things, but I don't think they're racist enough to intentionally make their business fail.

I mean unless they force Ewers over Ward/Sanders.

This isn't good. Tommy might mess around and win a game or two and we miss out on both QBs.

Play Drew Lock.

On the flip side, if Doug and Trent are fired like was reported they'd be, and Trevor comes back, the Jags are definitely gonna win enough to pass y'all.

how bad does Lock have to be not to get a chance after DJ benching?

They brought him in to potentially start if DJ wasn't healthy to start year to now him not getting a shot to play after?

My first thought as well.

I would have assumed this exact scenario was part of the negotiations with him. I'm surprised that now that it's happening, Lock is on the outside looking in.

Just thinking outside the box...could this less to be about "football reasons" and more to do with how "popular" DeVito is with the fan base and maybe that keeps the dogs away for now because they are likely losing anyway and the fan base has no connection to Lock and they kinda have that underdog vibez with DeVito.

Not saying that is 100% true just trying to think if you are going to tank at least tank with the guy that the fan base likes?

NGL I'm feeling a little sad right now. I had such high hopes for Jones and so wished it worked out. He had everything you wanted in an Eli successor in terms of frame, character and work ethic. His rookie season was exciting and hopeful. Sucks what happened. And he is not the sole reason this didn't work out. Nobody could or would have succeeded with the constant coaching changes and lack of OL and weapons. I wish him nothing but the best and hope he goes on to become a Geno Smith or Sam Darnold somewhere else.

I'm scared to death of Tommy DeVito. The last thing we need is a repeat of last season. Those DeVito wins did nothing but cost of Jaylen Daniels and I'm worried he will rally these bums to 3-4 meaningless wins and it will once again ruin our draft position and at the same time save Daboll's job.

If you truly love this franchise, and I know this sounds harsh, but hope and pray DeVito plays like a 3rd string practice squad player.

Jerry Reese was promoted to GM when Accorsi retired and Brandon Brown is the second in command after Schoen. We would've drafted Jaylen Daniels if it wasn't for DeVito too.

NYG are a lot of things but racist isn't one of them.

And I don't see anyone else hiring Flores. Clearly him being black isn't reason either. Could it be he's just not HC material and a "terrible person" like Tua called him?

Nah I don't think Mara and co are racist. Aside from the other points brought up, Mara loved Saquon and didn't want to let him go.

I don't think they let skin color impact their decision making at all. I think that they're incompetent.

They paid Drew Lock 5 million dollars and he isn't even good enough to start over Tommy.

That's the issue here. Not racism. Incompetence. Which is a good thing because incompetence can be fixed.

I hope.

Somehow this will end up being bad. Cutlets might throw on time balls. We paid 5 m to Drew lock and don’t even trust him lol. All the best giants. I’m hoping for top pick but we the giants.

also from some pretty well sourced people I guess Lock was really underwhelming in practice....org was questioning if he even wanted to play.

Also sounds like Daboll is still coaching for his life...so doubt it just financial.

Reese was Only promoted cause Ernie Told them to. Don’t forget that.

They had to be told to do it.

Also it’s not about Flores. You missing the point it’s only black coaches this seems to happen to. It’s why I said Leslie pissed me off the most cause it was CLEAR they was hiring Daboll and they still brought him in at end just to make it look good.

Whether it’s racist or not, the optics don’t look good when you move like that.

Plenty of teams skirt around the Rooney rule with those tactics. I’m not putting the giants above it when plenty of NFL teams are known to do it as well.

It’s why they said the rooney rule is flawed cause all you have to do is just BRING them in to satisfy it.
