Micic for literally any frontcourt player
Vasa Micic isn't really needed in Charlotte with Tre Mann usually running backup PG. What Charlotte is severely short on is healthy frontcourt bodies.
Our barely 19yo rookie Salaun was always expected to be raw, but has been straight up catastrophic. he is completely lost and really just needs reps in Greensboro to learn how to play. We can't even let him go down there because we don't have enough healthy players to fill in his disastrous 10-20 minutes unless we want to play a combo guard at forward.
Micic is owed $7.7M this year and has a TO for $8.1M. Charlotte just needs someone that can eat some minutes till we have a functional rotation (and be insurance when they are back). Preferably an expiring contract like Micic. Bonus points (and even some 2nds) if it's a serviceable player for the future. I draw the line right before the bad contracts on a worthless guy like Zeke Nnaji (sorry Denver)

Micic
Grant Williams
Cody Martin
First round pick (something like lotto protected, top 10 protected, top 10 protected)
for
Jerami Grant
Duop Reath
Why for Charlotte: Upgrade in Jerami, should play well next to Ball, plus they get a backup quality center who also stretches the floor
Why for Portland:
1st round pick, get off some of the long term salary, Grant Williams becomes a lower minute/lower salary vet for the team than Jerami

The bar is in the dirt but imagine most teams would rather just sign Dennis Smith Jr or fultz atp

How about Chris Boucher for Micic? The Raptors would want some kind of 2nd round pick in the future for this though.

Micic has been putrid so far but in very few minutes.
Hard to get a read but micic for Nnaji seems perfect. Nuggets give an SRP.
Don't understand the concern with Nnaji, he's shown more than micic. I think Nnaji has sneaky value, I think his confidence is through the floor playing for a team trying to contend where he gets pulled of he misses shots, too much pressure to perform for a young guy.
I think he'd be decent on hornets

The east is wide open, and Mark Williams is unreliable health wise, I'd make a play for Poeltl with Mavs or Heat pick...

Re: Micic for literally any frontcourt player
He did really well in a stretch run with the Hornets last season where other former Thunder scrubs looked decent with Charlotte. Other teams can sign a minimum guy off the scrap heap and they would be on par with Micic at $7.7 million.
Micic to Denver for Zeke and some picks. They clear him off their roster, you get a young big who could use a change of scenery and some picks. I don’t think you’re getting a better offer than that

Nnaji is just starting a 4/32m deal and he has consistently lost minutes for 3 seasons inna row now with his poor play. A 2nd rounder doesn’t turn that into an expiring contract.

Yup. Even if Micic were the worst player in the league he would hold more value than Nnaji simply by virtue of the fact that you can get out of his contract after this season.
TBH it wouldn't surprise me if Denver just went ahead and stretch waived Nnaji this upcoming offseason.

Micic and some SRP for Thybulle?
PDX simply doesnt have the rotation minutes for Matisse IMO - we can buy out Micic and come out of it saving some money and getting some SRP.
CHA gets a tone setter on defense.

Micic for Bagley works straight up in the trade machine. Wizards would only ask for one future 2nd. Bagley isn't getting PT simply because Sarr, Jonas, Kuzma, and George are all ahead in the pecking order. Bagley will put up numbers if he gets PT.

2nd year probably kills that for Charlotte--plus they need bodies and his health just can't be counted on.
And Dallas is unlikely to salary dump Maxi despite his struggles. They need him.

i can see that
i actually wasnt even viewing it as a dump. I think Micic is better than Dinwiddie (and maybe Hardy) at this juncture

Spencer and Hardy are meh but in the playoffs even they can be counted on to play better defense than Micic.

Or Richaun Holmes, roughly the same contract and the same situation and neither are guaranteed beyond this year. Holmes plays better defense and does more of the little things like good pick setting, Bagley has more offensive skills. Either way you are eating an extra 4 million so you'd need the cap room for it. Not sure it would require a 2nd with the money thing though we don't really need another PG with Brogdon back last game and Jared Butler already not in the 8 man rotation despite good numbers in garbage time.

Micic for Holmes actually makes sense, Wizards could use a PG and Hornets a stopgap center on quasi-expiring deal...

this is my favorite I think. If the player coming back doesn't matter to Portland, I'd send Martin to Portland (essentially the same contract, about $400k more, final year not guaranteed ... and Martin would be an awful awful awful fit with Thybulle anyway)
then flip Micic to one of the teams that actually wants him and would be offering Boucher/Kleber/Holmes/whoever else. I think Boucher being an expiring is my favorite out of those, and Charles Lee can live out his dream of having players at every position that only like to fire threes

The cash savings should be the motivation here, but unless they trade Brogdon I don't see the need for for a PG with Poole and Bub there.
