It's an unnecessary and dirty play by a guy who has not only done that multiple times over, but punched a teammate.

He's a bad person. It's okay to acknowledge that and still root for your team.

Any player, including Draymond, is so much more than what one might see as an NBA fan. As a decades long Warriors fan, I have seen a lot more of Draymond than most NBA fans and I know that he's a good person. Someone that struggles with his strong and intense emotions, something he's acknowledged, but a good person nonetheless. I'm proud to be a Warriors fan, largely because of Draymond, and I've always been proud that Draymond is a Warrior.

Boooohooohoohooo. Everybody's got skin cuts. Check any player's arms. Have you seen Jokic's? Come on man, you're comparing scrapes on arm to an ankle grab that could've been career-ending?

Career ending? Stop being dramatic. Hooks and grabs happen every single game. This is Draymond's 13th year in the league and despite all the whining and crying, he hasn't ended a career. That's a large enough sample to say with a reasonable degree of confidence, it's no more likely to happen with Draymond than any other player in the league.

You seem to lack reading comprehension. "could have been". You seem to have forgotten what Zaza did to Kawhi. Kawhi is still "playing" but is he? Oh yes! Injury caused by the same ORGANIZATION!!! GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS! A tradition of dirty players.

I consider yours a refreshingly honest and revealing sentiment.

The hatred of Draymond has quite obviously always been just a part of the greater hate that the Warriors get because of the ongoing dynasty that never seems to end, even with a 36 year old Curry.

A franchise that goes from performing historically poorly to one of the top-3 greatest in NBA history in barely a couple decades, the fandom finds galling!

How dare they! That Draymond is so audacious and outspoken has become a symbol of the organization itself and that that approach yields so much success is infuriating.

Ya'll hate us, because you're not us. Add in that Curry is so likable and Draymond becomes a dumping ground for all the vexation and frustration of an NBA fandom ready to see a dynasty finally end.

You guys have been crying about "could have been" for years, but nada. Might be time to consider that you're just crying wolf. And, while I'm glad you were able to get that off your chest, what does Zaza and Kawhi have to do with the chances of Draymond hurting someone anyway?

This is as stupid as stupid gets. That's like saying "I shot him but missed his vitals and he didn't die so it's fine" or "I ran the red light and nobody got killed so it's fine". There's a reason for RULES and LAW. The OUTCOME doesn't determine the wrongfulness of the ACT.

He is a bad person for punching his team-mate no doubt. Hard to know how hard he hit him, but such punches do not have controlled consequences.

As far as his on court stuff he is a serial killer (according to you guys) who has never killed anyone.

Two issues here.

He does low key dirty stuff to put players off their game which plenty of defensive players do, including to Steph Curry all game every game. He has temper tantrums more befitting a 3 year old and jaws at referees and the like. No one is arguing such behaviour is edifying, or that he shouldn’t be penalised for any rule breaking involved, and he does get penalised.

You and others are however contending that he deliberately and maliciously attempts to seriously injure opponents which he doesn’t do imo, and that he hasn’t ever significantly injured anyone in a career spanning 12 or more years as a hard nosed defensive player is hence rather salient.

This is why Draymond threads get so contentious. The haters want to be allowed to pile on the slander and hate, no matter how over-the-top and ridiculous, and not get called on it. It's bizarre because I can't think of another player that the haters feel entitled to snipe at without generating a response.

People will remember this play from Draymond, a totally inconsequential play, and continue to bring it up, but does anyone remember when Dillon Brooks took GP2 out midair with a vicious forearm swipe to the head? Has Draymond ever done anything as dangerous or damaging as that play? No. Not even close.

More than happy to debate brother, and don't get me started on Brooks (my most hated player), but it's the whole "Just leave Draymond alone!!" posts or the ones that completely dismiss his poor conduct that causes arguments.
