Orlando / Toronto

Post#1 » by Duffman100 » Tue Nov 19, 2024 3:23 am

Toronto trades Poeltl

Magic trade Anthony Black and (Goga or Wagner)

Toronto looks to sell high on Poeltl
Magic can't count on WCJ's health, so they look for a center upgrade to help them in the playoffs. Black is a steep price but worth it?

Orlando passes. Poeltl isnt that much of an upgrade over Goga to include Black.

What if swap Black for either the Magic or Denver 2025 pick?

why do you want black? our backcourt is pretty full already. Orlando need to upgrade PG more than C imo

thats hard. Goga is starting to look really good with playing time and is less than half the cost of Poeltl. I dont know the cap ramifications with Paolo due his extension soon.

I think Orlando should pull the trigger on the scoring guard/wing they need before doing anything else. So moving Black or either of the 2025 picks probably doesn't make sense unless it's in that deal, since that might be what puts them over the top if they need to overpay for any star shooter/scorer who becomes available.

Black is near untouchable.

The difference between Goga and Poeltl is not Black and likely not enough for Toronto to consider the swap.

Orlando is really content for Bitzade and don’t think they will do anything significant on the center front until Wendell is eligible for trade (not until this summer).

Orlando has no interest to trade Anthony Black. Poetl is having a career year but were not gonna gut a rotation player for an upgrade C that really don't need. Goga is playing great basketball right now and likely will remain our starter.

Some bench scoring is what orlando needs. A player that can hit some 3s and not be an awful defender.

That makes no sense for Toronto, to trade Poeltl for a pick in the 20s who may will likely never be as good as Poeltl.

I like the idea of Orlando trading for BOTH Poeltl and Schroder, as a complement to their young core. Schroder can play tag team with Suggs in the backcourt as a PG/SG combo. Poeltl provides them with a style of big that WCJ/Mo/Goga don't currently.

As a bonus, it would be a German connection between their 5 players Poeltl-Schroder-Mo-Franz-TDS...team chemistry matters a lot.

thats not completely true. WCJ/Mo are more offensive centers. Goga is a more traditional center. and comparing the two, they arent that far off. And Goga hasnt had a whole lot of run, he very well could improve on those numbers.

Poeltl PER36 - 18.7 ppg, 13 rpg, 1.5 bpg
Goga PER36 - 13.7 ppg, 11.8 rpg, 2.4 bpg

I don’t know that I’d swap Goga at 3/$25m for Poeltl…I won’t even ponder AB unless you throw in Quickley
