This "just get some warm bodies" mantra is the biggest self-defeating prophecy since the pre-championship "you can't give Middleton a max!" truthers. If the alternative does nothing to allow us to compete with the likes of Boston, Cleveland, or even the Knicks, then the alternative sucks and you're not a serious organization when it comes to winning championships in the next couple years. You want some "warm bodies"? Then just play the young guys more and trade Middleton/Brook/Bobby. You'll get the same result withouyt completely gutting your offensive ceiling.

As a don't give middleton the max truther. I feel attacked and I may sit out from posting with an undisclosed ankle injury.

1 demerit point for calling Tari Eason a warm body.

For the team to reach is offensive ceiling it needs a PG who can shoot the 3. Dames shot has regressed for the 3rd straight year, and is now below average. A poor defender who can't shoot the 3 just isn't a winning player in today's game.

Dame has a 23 and 42 playoff record in the playoffs.

Dame didn't poach elk, sidle up to teenagers in a biblical manner and throw elbows like Rock John son in a forum where elbows shan't be thrown like that. Because of 18-Wheelin' Karl and his lil illegal pick-settin' buddy, we have to deal with a guy who should be shunned out of society for his brusque manner and disquieting dirigible-sized denim fetish as the greatest practicioner of this here sport. That right there is some shameful sht.

Dame's known for hitting a really cool shot and capable mic-work. Wish he could 'd' up a little bit and I don't mean 'd' up like Karl Malone if you get my drift.

This post is underrated and great.. I almost spit my apple cider out. I couldn't stop laughing to even finish reading.. I don't even agree with your main point I don't think.. but this is still my favorite post ever.. cheers to you my good sir. +1s for your next 10 posts I see whether I agree or not... omfg denim fetished bahahaaa!

Remember back when we argued whether AJ Green could be JJ Reddick? Instead he's Lu Dort with a jumper.

Warm body is fair... you're the one comparing and wanting to trade a Hall of Famer for a Rockets bench player and a midget about to retire.

I was pounding the table for us to move up and draft him in '22 lol, so there will be no Tari Eason slander on my watch. But it's also funny to try and now spin this as a "Dame can't shoot 3's anymore" problem after the last *checks notes* 3-games of basketball (Van Vleet shooting 31% on the year FYI), one of which he was severely concussed, cuz you know, goalposts. He'll erupt for 30+ while splashing pull-up 3's in one of these next couple games and it'll be crickets as usual.

I'm not trying to get FVV, so leave me out of conversations about him.

Dame to Miami, Jimmy to Houston, Eason to the Bucks, with salary filler and 1sts to spread around the league for 2 more significant players.

Dames oversized contract gives us a huge salary slot to fill, and there's tanking teams that have already won too much and need to make moves quickly.

Trading Dame isn't addition by subtraction; he will be in the Hall of Fame. Getting a bench player in return and 1sts that we might not get anything of value for is very risky. I think you should schedule yourself a minor July surgery to fix your posts for next season.. you can play video games while you recover while your pasta chef whips up meals for you. Then you can come back to posting on a minutes restriction next December or January like your boy.

You trade Dame since moving him is literally the ONLY thing that can extend our window and save the team from being crippled for the rest of the decade, even if Dame was a good fit with Giannis he is simply too old and paid too much. You just gotta accept this isn't a championship contender as configured then the "risks" don't seem that risky. I don't need another season of Dame, pull the plug early.

Times changed... Dudes that take care of their body -- like Dame who has a basketball trainer, agility trainer, personal trainer, and nutritionist--- can easily play to 40. Idk how long you think GA's window is, but since he won a ring in '21 I'd say NOW is the time. Trading for a bunch of borderline rotation players isn't what you want to do. Add an assistant coach that can get us right.. where's Stotts..

Also, when we end up blowing things up eventually, these guys will all still get you 1st round picks. Look at when Boston traded KG and all them on the blowup and still got plenty of 1sts back for those old, talented vets.

I mostly agree with you on keeping Dame, but I would push back on this a bit. That was a long time ago now. The Beal trade might be more what we could expect if we trade Dame further down the line (and honestly, it could return even less now that we're on this new CBA but on the flipside, Beal had a no trade clause that played a factor in the return as well). The Wizards got a bunch of pick swaps that may or may not ever convey.

Still though, it's hard to envision any Dame trade out there that does anything but end any hopes of winning a title in the short term while also maybe not being enough to help us win one in the long term.

Nothing in the last season and change since the Bud/Jrue blow up has given me any inclination that this is a contending team as opposed to previous 5, this team has fallen off hard and its just the sunk cost of it all that forces us to keep it all together it feels like. After we don't win this season do we really need another with Dame really? The core is just going to rot in the ground and then we'll be forced to trade Giannis & suffer for the next decade.

Fire Horst, Fire Doc, trade Dame, make anybody besides Giannis available. Find a basketball guy at top not a Fedex loser, hire a real coach who hounds DEFENSE and BALL MOVEMENT, reload around Giannis and I think the team won't skip a beat from this year. Giannis + random g leaguer could go 5-9 a lot cheaper, there is literally nothing to lose with the team heading towards the Lakers perennial play in contention as opposed to the real thing.

Washed Giannis and Dame are still more valuable to a playoff team than anything they can get on a buyout market... deadline deal Dame and Giannis will get you a haul even a few years from now on the blowup. We gave like 6 2nds for washed Crowder... we can probably get 40 2nds for washed Giannis and Dame hahahahhaa

I’m still very interested in BI.

I think if you wanted a quicker reset, that’s who I’d target. He’s the closest thing in the league to Middleton. He’s a really good mid range shooter, has really nice vision, and he has the size and length to make shots or passes in traffic.

His issues are his health, and he’s not much a proven winner at this point. He seems to lack some toughness, and he’s underperforming relative to his talent. His talent is absurd though, like he should be in the top 10 conversation.

I don’t know if we could make a competitive bid but with Nic Claxton reportedly available what’s our best offer?

It bears noting the young guys being used have the best defensive rating on the team, and it's generally very good. Both AJax & Green are at a 103. In terms of net rating, they're both moderately positives. The o rating is bad. Help your d, hurt you o.

If you count Rollins, his d rating is all the way down in the 80's, & he's the only one that's #'s that support he doesn't have a negative impact on your offense (it's middling). Might have staying power, but it's a very small sample.

What I think this goes to show though, is a young player, with legs, & energy, may be required in every lineup as a fuse-piece. Then it's playing by ear who's not killing you on o. Ajax does it by not shooting, Green badly. AJ's got a bad shoulder. He was flexing it.
