If a young team loses in the SB you obviously build on that and hope to improve the year later with optimism.
But here’s the important part.
When examining a SB loss years ago that didn’t lead to future SBs then those SB losses become useless.
Answer my question now
Does the Panthers SB loss give them any sort of bragging rights?

In 2018 you dont know if it is going to lead to a super bowl or not, you can only go on with what you'd achieved by that time. But at least you accept progress is valuable even if the year does not end with a super bowl, took you awhile but welcome to rationality.

I am sure Panthers fans enjoyed watching their team more than Jaguars or whoever was the Cowboys of that time. Nobody brags or celebrates losing in the super bowl, that's just you fighting with wind mills.

My argument has not changed.
The context was evaluating the past.In that regard SB losses are irrelevant.
Your scenario had no relevance given the context of comparing the past.

I am not saying anything about the past, I am just testing the "year without a super bowl win is worthless" hypothesis. But your reluctance in answering speak volumes.

You celebrating a Super Bowl loss is literally you "COPING" with that reality.

They'll be fine for a couple of years. But the problems will start for SF after Purdy gets his money & guys like Kittle, CMC & Warner start to age out. The first mistake was not moving Aiyuk when they had the chance. Instead, he got paid & then hurt.

Their window this year is closed.

They signed Aiyuk knowing they wont resign Deebo.

Anyway, you guys need a Niners thread, poor bjj is not getting the "state of Cowboys" discussion that he craves. A mod should fix the derailing of the thread.

The thread evolving because we were comparing bothered you but not the multiple Down syndrome posts?
Nice to see you have your priorities straight.

Doesnt have to be any team, lets say "22 year old quarterback with MVP numbers loses in the conference finals with a coach who had taken his teams deep into playoffs but had never won a super bowl". Do you keep them because they have shown progress or get rid of them for being losers in playoffs?

We literally wasted pages because you thought Mr B said the 49ers lose the next round every time they beat the cowboys in the playoffs. lol
When it was clear he didn’t say that.

No I said Cowboys usually lose when they play Niners in the first game and he said then Niners usually lose next round, which is not true Niners usually lose much deeper than that. You misunderstood, but it is ok no need to derail.

I clearly answered this.
You obviously build on that and hope to improve. In that moment you can be optimistic and keep building.
But again, when examining the past we can see if it was fruitless. Hind sight is 20/ 20.
Dan Marino went to the SB and loss very young. At the time it might have been encouraging and smart to build on. But now many years later we can see that SB loss was meaningless.
You are discussing something different.

You should try hitting the "new topic" button for your Niners obsession.

This thread is in fact about dumb Dak, Jerry and Cowboys fans.

Ok so you think it was a valuable year for Chiefs in terms of looking forward and building their team. Glad we agree.

No you’re wrong.
You said next year when the cowboys go 9 and 3 …..
emphasis on the next year. He responded to that.
Everyone knows the cowboys haven’t been to a NFC championship game and the 49ers went to the SB.
So obviously they do t always lose the year after.
But he was referring to your NEXt YEAR comment.
Who’s is funny you still don’t get.
