You coddle a player since he was drafted and instill a losing culture from day 1, these are the results.

It’s really a travesty. Voter fatigue and whining from Embiid really got him an MVP.

Jokic was and is far better and far more valuable than Joel.

morey knows about how divisive klutch sports is which is one of the reasons morey wanted to trade maxey and not really pay him

This isn't even an issue of "The Process" imo, it's the culture Morey creates. He pampers his stars to an extreme amount. It's how he get stars to come to his teams, but then they become primadonnas at every stop after... Happened with Harden (TWICE) and Howard, now happening Embiid and won't be surprised if PG follows suit.

Showing up to meetings on time should be automatic for any professional in any working environment. That's not a lot to ask. I'm guessing Maxey probably tried to hold him accountable internally and when that didn't work he went to the media. Good for him.

Ya, its about time to ask what the correlation is. If Morey attracted to primadonnas? Or does he create them?

Sorry not sorry.

The Jokic vs. Embiid debate has gone the way of the CP3 vs. Deron Williams debate.

It's so funny, I thought about Jokic ever getting called out by his teammate or coach and I laughed to myself about how unlikely this would ever be.

You expect professionalism from your leader. Your leader sets the example for the young guys. And the group is only going to go as far as the leader can take them.

And so far? It's looking like Maxey might just have to take that role from him. It seems like Embiid has lost the plot.

If I were the Lakers I will offer everyone except LBJ/AD/Knecht, plus all trade-ables 1st round picks and pick swaps to get Joel. To go all in to win 1 more chip before LBJ retires.

Nah. Embiid is going to be 31 in a few months and is going to completely fall apart within the next couple years. The last thing the Lakers should do is morgage a decade worth of assets for an aging guy who doesn’t take care of his body.

It's a great question tbh...

My opinion is probably more that he attracts them vs create them because they know if he's running the team, they can do whatever the **** they want. But...

Because he attracts them, he also super-charges them. So players who have that inclination get their desires fed into by Morey-led teams because that's the culture he creates. So it's a chicken and the egg scenario. Stars who have that inclination to just be pampered left-right-and-center will go to teams he leads because they get that. In turn, they don't get pushed by players and FO's who put culture over pamper (Spurs, Miami, GSW, etc).

To Morey's credit - I think it's a hard fine-line to balance. But I think after nearly a decade, it's clear it's not how to do it. Even before Morey, you could look at a guy like Bob Whitsitt who largely had the same philosophy for roster building... it WILL get you star players if the FO is on board and not asking questions... BUT... Using Bob's own words, "I'm not a chemistry major"... that same thing kills rosters by just trying to put as many stars together as possible without an underlining culture of "hey, we're gonna give a **** and don't just want our asses wiped for us".

no jokic has 3 mvps... losing out on one isnt a travesty

what the media has done to james hardens career is a travesty. it all started in 2016 no all-nba selection despite leading the nba in total points scored

you are crying because jokic didnt win 3 straight mvps.. harden literally BROKE basketball and had his mvps snatched by westbrick and giannis lol. In 2019 harden literally broke steph currys record for epm in a season by a guard, most points scored per 100 possessions in history using a long-thought to be ineffiecent style of play.. that being isolation basketball and with all the injuries they had that kept the rockets from winning from winning more games they voted againist harden again

jokic i believe was a 6th seed when he won one of his mvps.. THEY WOULD NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE reward harden with an mvp for placing as a 6th seed, the media wouldnt even care about injuries to his teammates
