I am in the belief Suggs has the 2nd highest ceiling of your team.

What's stopping him on offense is that his best role is that of a 2 way elite slasher (Wade, who himself wasn't a good three point shooter).

Image

He's ping ponging from either being a star or role player on offense.

54% of his shots are threes and basically assisted while 46% of his 2s are basically him ISOing and he's good at it.

It's going to require a change in shot diet, but I believe the guy could get to the rack anytime he wants and eat at the FT line.

I get that you aren't a Magic fan so you wouldn't know what this thread is really about.

This is kinda like the "anti-jinx" thread to get Suggs back. So you have to pile on Suggs in this thread if you want him to get back to his 40% 3pt range and best guard defender in the league status.

Someone made a thread like this about Franz when he was sick for more than a week ( TBF a lof of guys were passing that flu.virus around) and Franz responded like the alpha that he is. lol

If you think he's better than Franz then you haven't watched too many games

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

BTW... respect for pepe for taking one for the team.

However, I don't think the Universe has enough power to help Suggs seeing as someone made another " elephant " but this time with WCJ. MAgic curse is just that powerful that it only works with one player at a time. Trying to cure both WCJ and Suggs might just be beyond it.

I'm an outlier and think Anthony Black has more upside.

“Why not us?….Why not now?”

1 week later, Paolo goes down. The universe was feelin real petty right then, almost like wishing Tyus Jones scores 30 on us.

A ceiling doesn't really indicate the right here and now, it also doesn't guarantee that the ceiling will happen either.

Hahahaha I chuckled

Yeah man, I was starting to swag around the general board hyping P5 and got hit with humble pie. Turns out we now have TWO offensive studs as a result, and are above where I projected us to be. Life is good.

Sucks as a scorer, that was evident since his rookie year. He had to tone down a bit. He needs to settle down like he did during the first few games with Paolo.

Yeah... now that yoy mentioned it...

Look we ALL have to find a way to stop basketballrob from hyping up Franz in the GB. That is just too scary with what happened to PB. We cant take the chance that the cosmic balance would slap us in the face.

That and I just don't agree with your scouting assessment. He doesn't appear to have the ability to get to the rim whenever he wants. He's not a 23 year old Westbrook.

I think Suggs is a player who goes 120% every minute he's out there abd he's also improved alot as an outside shooter but he doesn't really have exceptional physical and athletic gifts for an NBA guard. Hes a guy who gets every bit out of his natural ability. I think ge also has a bit of an extra sense at least when it comes to getting deflections, steals, timing for rebounds. There's nothing about the guy that isn't in total overdrive when he's out there.

He has potential on drives but yeah, he has to see the game at a different level than he's shown. He'll have defenders in jail and/or easy passes and turn it over still because he's not processing it fast enough. I think his shot is his biggest plus, it's just a bit off this year compared to last year but I have faith.

I get the thread. But with regards to Jalen the issue remains the same.. his body moves before his mind does. He needs to think before he moves or makes decisions and then get to the proper anticipatory reaction which is thinking two or three steps ahead just like he does on defense. He's gotten a lot better until Banchero went down and he put too much pressure on himself to do more. That's it right there.

Simply he's just miscast in his role.... Once he's back where he should be he'll be fine... Too much pressure on him right now and certain people aren't built for certain roles.... Its like asking a tornado to be structured... Suggs is sort of a chaos agent, 100 mph always on all gas no brakes.... And you're asking him to put most of that on pause.... Honestly not his bag

Jalen needs to play better, plain and simple.

With Paolo out, he should be our #2 option. He did a couple games after Paolo's injury, but didn't show much after and now he is in a slump shooting the 3 ball

Pepe, Jalen doesn't suck. But he needs to be better. If this team is anywhere near our expectation to make a run in April and May, we need Jalen BIG TIME

Agreed…and I don’t think these are necessarily limitations that “work ethic” and “dawg” can necessarily overcome. He could refine a little more/let the game come to him/see it slow down, etc as he ages…but I just don’t believe PG vision is a reasonable thing to expect to just develop at this point in his life. He’s a better KCP, possibly a DPOY someday as his skills refine to match his already elite instincts and physical gifts…which is plenty….I shouldn’t even use the word “limitations “…it’s more just who he is and isn’t. Play to your strengths and keep maximizing them.
