Going to need to rebuild the entire CB position group this off-season. Jaire's not available enough and the rest don't have the ability.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

No way Gute can pick up Quay's 5th year option, right?

too bad Stokes had that really bad leg injury. He showed flashes and had that speed his rookie year. At draft time last year, maybe they banked on Stokes recovering 100% when they didn't pick a CB.
but yes, next draft, they'll pick CBs. Maybe another edge, but I'd prefer them signing a proven FA edge. And a MLB.

Re: Packers News, Transactions - Morgan on IR
This question in Magary's fun bag today made me smile.
A co-worker, who's a vile Packers fan, asked me, a vile Bears fan, a question that I'll ask you, a vile Vikings fan: how much winning can the Detroit Lions do before you hate them as much as the other teams in the division? We agreed that there's a Triangle of Hate between Chicago, Green Bay, and Minnesota, and that no one hates the Lions because they've been so bad for so long. We also agreed that a Super Bowl victory was the breaking point. So how much hate do you have for the Lions?
First of all, please inform the Bears fan that there is no triangle of hate. I know Bears fans despise the Packers, but the feeling is not mutual because the Packers always win that game. It’s been a one-sided rivalry for the past three decades and change. The Vikings have won this division more than any other team in it, and the Packers are second. That’s the more even rivalry, even though daddy’s little Packers always end up getting the final word. Also, Vikings fans like me haven’t hated the Bears since Mike Ditka was the head coach. Chicago’s never been good enough to merit that level of enmity, nor have the Lions. So I consider both of those teams secondary rivals at best, and usually not rivals at all.
This is so true.

Yep. Maybe for the retired crowd there's a "triangle of hate" but I'm 41 and the Bears simply haven't been good enough to develop that hatred for. They have like 1 and a half ok seasons every 4-5 years and they simply suck the rest of the time. I was 2 years old in 85 so that had no effect on meReasonablySober wrote:This question in Magary's fun bag today made me smile.

Taking it a step farther during the formative years of my (and others around my age) Fandom it was GB vrs Minnesota and then Dallas. Bears weren't even on the radar. Its why pretty much every fan around my age loathes the Cowboys and the Vikings.
Sure some will give lip service to how its fun to always beat the Bears but the true hatred is for Dallas and Minnesota

I guess because I'm 10yrs older I vehemently remember hating the bears. It stuck in my childhood DNA and stayed with me. We sucked and they would whip our ass and every cell in my body wanted to beat the **** out of Jim McMahon. **** that guy.
Even when I moved to Miami and the bears vs colts were there for the superbowl in the 2000s, I showed up with my favre jersey just to **** with 40,000 or so bears fans at the game. It was satisfying seeing that L in person.
While it has been lopsided for so long, it still feels very very good. Every W vs the bears is a wonderful healing for that little kid watching his hapless team get mercilessly destroyed by the bears in the 80s.

Yea. I hate the Vikings & Cowboys but the Bears will always be our #1 rival to me. Maybe it's cause I grew up in the southern part of the state but I will always despise the Bears(and the Cubs)
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Where you grew up definitely plays a part in where you think your rivals are. I lived in NW Wisconsin my whole life and the Vikings were always the two biggest games of the season.
Meanwhile the Bears might as well be the Lions.

Re: Packers News, Transactions - Morgan on IR
Vikings probably are more of the rival right now, but my disdain for Chicago sports doesn't allow me to put the Bears second
Most Bears fans are also Cubs/Bulls fans, and I can't stand when they are good and try to fill up our arenas and sitting among them during games. Hate their guts.

The home opener loss to the Bulls was terrible. I've never been in a fight in my life but I was close to smacking the mouth breathing Bulls fan behind me that night.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

In the SE it's definitely the Bears. I barely even think about the Vikings.
