He’s gonna make McCain look like Steve Nash out there. Bad news is, our starting center would be Suns version Shaq.

Sit out George until he’s 200%. We were fine last season with Tobias and Caleb can fill that Tobias role.

Yeah, giving his minutes to Yabu and Council wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

SMDH. They literally almost let it happen. This team is the dumbest organization I've ever seen.

I wouldnt mind Sam Cassell. He also knows all Celtics playbook. We have reached a point where we need to cheat in order to win it.

Good news: Embiid & McCain = Shaq & Kobe
Bad news: Maxey & George = Derek Fisher & Rick Fox
Nick Nurse = Del Harris

Someone needs to ask Buddy Hield why his shooting suddenly faltered during his time with this team. Understanding what happened could hold the answer into the shooting struggles we’re facing now.

Nurse didn't run action for him, just expected him to work in his shystem

I cant squint for happy signs like some of you. George being out for significant time again likely means the death knell to the season. It would be unfair to ask McCain to keep the is season afloat. They don't have enough without George. They are 2-12! Say he misses 15 games. I honestly think 8-7 would be very good for this team.

This is the biggest indictment IMO. One of the greatest 3 point shooters of all time couldn't flourish here, the moment they leave and go to a historically great 3 piont shooting team, he's back to being good again.

Absolutely on Nurse, really a shame that Buddy didn't work out here.

Let's start with the negatives, which are obvious at this point..
- complete mess on offense, people running into each other, poor timing on hand-offs, insecurity with passes, blocking our own passing lanes
- McCain, yes, we understand by now that you can score, but you can't just keep chugging every time you touch the ball. If that's the plan, then move him to the 6th man and let him do it with the second unit
- Rotations - I feel like at this point we need to find some stability; we're not going to be able to do that by playing a 12-man rotation, which includes 7 new players.
- we lost to a depleted Memphis team, which just shows that we are not favorites against anyone in the league; if Ja was playing, this game would've been over by mid 2nd quarter

A few positives:
- showed some spirit late in 4th, not giving up and allowing to be blown out after being down 18
- Embiid showed a better body language, and that he is not quite dead yet
- Yabusele - out of all acquisitions, he looks like most stable and consistent guy there; playing to his strengths, not trying to do too much and letting the game come to him

And that's about it.
PG is injured again, Maxey will need another week to get into the game rhythm, and Embiid is already rubbing his knees.

Lol wonderful

Joel Embiid when asked about the details that emerged from Monday's team meeting: "Whoever leaked that is a real piece of ****. But even then, we talked about a lot of things. I don’t want to get into the details, but that whole thing probably took 30 seconds."

Thoughts:

-Individually some good things, but they look disconnected defensively and offensively

-Joel at least overall looks healthy, more like himself, and perhaps tradable next summer (j/k)

-As always Maxey should drive first, shoot 3s second

-Yabu the real MVP and should maybe start?

-Still like the overall contributions from Martin... Seems like the Sixers version of --Josh Hart in pretty much every way.

-Jared is still amazing

George hopefully doesn't need more than 1 game missed if he was thinking about coming back in. I don't want to see him get out of shape again... even if they put him on line a 15 minute minutes restriction for a few weeks.

Lineups:

Reggie Jackson in his last few outings suggests he should be the first old guard playing, limit Gordon like tonight and Kyle for situations.

I also really like KJ Martin for defense. I think he should be next to Drummond with the bench or have Yabu next to Drummond. I also think I'm Yabu center minutes KJ should be there. Especially if you can't have George, Martin, Oubre on the court with either backup center.

Speaking of: I did like the idea of the lineup that started the 4th Jared and Maxey with Oubre, Martin, Andre. Seemed to be okay offensively except a few turnovers in part from Drummond. Yet defensively, still not totally sure.

You blame Morey for all the injuries?

First even the thought of making an actual thread when the product didn’t even hit the floor is just

I blame Morey for not having a reliable back up C for our best player who is always injured and signing old small veterans who only play in the half court. He didn’t know how to build a roster in Hou and he hasn’t done it here either

Morey is not the sole person to blame of course but he is the majority. The Morey slurpfest on this board is funny and sad at the same time.

The current bad times of this season are due to various factors

- They thought that Maxey would take another leap. After all he has gotten better every year. This is the first year where I feel like he might have reached his ceiling..and they are paying for it. They needed him to be not only capable of being a first option but also a much better set up guy...he has not been.

- Oubre and Martin makes sense in theory. two rangy wings who can switch on defense. Except Oubre has been the worst 3pt shooter in the league and Martin **** up his shot. So they both clog up the offense because teams are fine with them taking shots. You can only have 1 non threat on the floor and generally for most teams that their center...not their wings. This allows other teams to swarm Biid on his catches. Trap our guards and just muck up whatever long developing sets we attempt.

- PG being washed...but mostly as a shooter. If he was the knock down guy he was last year, we'd have a few more wins

- Gordon, Lowry, and Reggie Jackson are bad adds. Gordon attempts to drive too much and Lowry is basically a small Oubre.

- Drummond being borderline unplayable. He lowkey lost us last nights game

- Embiid's approach to offense is just too rigid. He needs to become a much better shooter and work more off ball. Our best offense has always been the pocket pass into a QUICK jumper. He slows down the offense too much and even when he is on, we are often trading twos for the other teams threes.

- We close out like dickheads. Too many guys close out like they are Wemby sized and able to block shots, close out with the choppy feet and just contest shots. The fact that we also help off of the corner three guy too much also sucks. Stay home. This is coaching.

Some of the above is obviously in hindsight (like I thought the Drummond signing was good) and McCain's emergence can assist some of it but again the real bummer was that this was THE FINAL move we had left. yet again made the wrong choices it seems. Need to clear some of the the scuff come Dec 15 and regroup as I don't think they will tank.

The only non-coaching malpractice excuse I'll accept is that he was injured for not being in the second half. Otherwise, he played the best two way game of anyone on our team last night.

I'm not blaming Buddy Hield on Nick Nurse. The guy was terrible.

It feels like Nurse has lost the locker room. The team was imperfect last year but they played really hard - they were even giving real effort in preseason last year. The effort has been bad particularly on defense & Embiid is questioning the offensive philosophy.

Some shots start to fall & I’m sure everyone will be happier but until then it’s looking bleak. It’s just baffling to me that we keep generating good looks but can’t make a shot.

Are there any fraud coaches out there that can come on as a consultant and sink Nurse then take the HC position? We are RIPE for the taking.
