I wish. I just started doing the gig a couple of years ago and it's very PT. I am the extra. I've only done the few shows mentioned plus Carl Palmer and some dude named Brian Culbertson or something like that. It's fun and pretty cool meeting the old heads but, it's very tame compared to when those guys were in their prime.

I played guitar with the guy who was a working rock musician. He spent about 6-7 years in Doug Sahm's Sir Douglas Quintet/Texas Tornados as his pedal steel player and 2nd guitarist. This is when Doug's band was situated in Austin, TX. Harry had the best rock stories ... a coked-out Chubby Checkers at a show that didn't end well was one. lol

Close. Actually it was, “DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!?!?!?!”

I consider James Brown a musical artist that transcended genres. Anyhow, this is a funny story from Bootsy Collins, one of the many great bass guitarists that played for JB. This almost rivals the Doc Ellis No-No for the Pirates.

Not specifically rock, but listen to this song and try not to be upbeat.

Glad to see Gavran keeping the General Rock Thread alive with that classic hit. While was away on mt extended summer sabbatical, Rick Davies of Supertramp died of cancer. Turns out he had been living on eastern Long Island and playing in a band Ricky and the Rockets featuring G.E. Smith, Mike Reilly (Pure Prarie League) and some other excellent musicians.

I’ve been digging deep in the band’s catalog of songs. What an underrated band imo. The songs are so well written and played. What a shame Roger Hodgson left the band when the just got cooking.
