They rejected Mitchell Robinson so not sure how that gets done without him unless a 3rd team is involved. Maybe Lakers?

Looking at the schedule... if Jokic doesn't play in the upcoming game against us and we play focused, we could possibly string off 12-15 wins in a row... ie the schedule is soft...

Luka is out and Jokic has been out the last few games for personal reasons but I expect him to return for our game.

Have the Knicks beat a true quality opponent yet?

Will they beat the Jazz?

Sometimes the name just works, and it rolls off the tongue. It doesn't have to make sense.

I will maintain that "Nets" is just a super weird team name

Imagine a football team called the Philadelphia Goalposts, a baseball team called the Houston Home Plates.

It was either that or The New Jersey Swamp Dragons.

No, I am not kidding.

Back in the 90s, the Nets petitioned the league to change the name to the Swamp Dragons.

First of all, I don't know what a Swamp dragon is. We don't have dragons in New Jersey. Not that dragons exist, but if they did, they wouldn't live here. It's a stupid name for a team regardless.

So anyway, the league inexplicably okay'd the name change, paid a half a mil to secure the name rights, trademarks, logo, all that stuff. David Stern then put the branding change up for a vote, which i believe had to be unanimous for it to happen.

26 teams voted yes. 1 team voted no.

That team was the Nets, who suddenly changed their mind at the last second.

To say the least, David Stern was absolutely furious about it.

In 1967 the Nets started as the New Jersey Americans in the ABAs first season. In 1968 they moved from Teaneck to Long Island and were renamed the New York Nets. Just to go in line with the Jets and Mets. There was even a New York Sets franchise in World Team Tennis around that time .

Southrn Utah is pretty amazing.

Zion is epic in every sense of the word. It lives up to the hype.

Bryce canyon feels like you're on a different planet.

Even stuff like Bentonite Hills are pretty cool.

And tbh, even SL, UT is a pretty cool city. The mountains surrounding it are pretty epic. It's a cool state to visit if you fck with the outdoors.

Canyonlands is the best of the Mighty 5, change my mind.

(You can't).

I didnt make it to that side of the state but you're very convincing cause bryce and zion are incredible.

The Mighty 5 are all great (though Capital Reef is the clear 5th), but two of the most insane places I've been in the Utah outdoors are Goblin Valley, which we detoured to see on a roadtrip after getting put on by some locals, and Factory Butte, which we literally just saw from the highway, were like "HOLY. SH*T. WHAT. THE. F*CK. IS. THAT?", and pulled over on a dusty road.

That's how incredible the natural environment of the land in Utah is. We planned to see the big boys, and the state is randomly like

Image

Goblin Valley (you can see people in the upper right side of the image for scale - my kids played hide and seek in there for a couple of hours. I even lost one for a while)
Image

Factory Butte (you can't see it, but the ground is covered in giant silicate shards/crystals. It's insane)
