Weah has been superb for Juve this season after being average at best in past seasons, and is mainly [finally] being played as an attacking player..may even start as striker vs Milan this weekend. Pulisic is legit one of the best players in the whole Serie A. Pepi has always looked good for the U.S. and he's still only 21 years old. We have a real coach now. Things are looking good but we need to keep growing

What do USA fans think of Pochettino so far?

Not much to go on yet, beating Jamaica a couple of times.

If he can unlock Pulisic and a couple of the others who regularly play in the top Euro leagues, he will be toasted.

But I think expectations are modest, just get out of the Group in the WC, maybe get past the first knockout game.

While the US has the most players playing in Europe, they have a way to go to match the high-water mark of the USMNT in international competition, which was probably the 2002 WC.

Didn't see the game but I imagine Panama was jacked to play the US. Canal this.

Edit: And not USA sorry, but Can gives up a goal in the first 45 seconds to Mexico.

I'm starting to think it might not be coaching.

saw a comment elsewhere that despite all the talent this group has, they don't have a lot of heart

which is a tough thing to say having not watched them much, but i'm assuming whoever did say that does watch them more than me

Honeymoon for Poch is going to be over soon.

Unless the team makes a very good showing in the WC next year.

"this is the best U.S. team we've ever seen" we say, based off the clubs that the teams play for. "This coach must suck," we say when the team doesn't win.
We must put the pressure on the players.

Can't I think Poch sucks and the players suck?
It's time for 5 refs.

I've heard it so many times over the past decade that this is the golden generation. But the fact is that the team is average at best, just like their manager who is as delusional as the soccer media.

But it looks like they didn't play their top players.

Didn't see Pulisic, Adams and others.

Maybe giving younger players some experience?

sounds like a lot of the big names aren't going to be there for the gold cup so you're right, giving experience to the group that will be in the gold cup
