I think RJ is better than IQ, and makes less. He could be a really good #2 or #3 but he needs to reign in the tunnel vision which people have been saying for 4 years, I bet as he gets older he carves out a more niche role. He is essentially DD but with layups instead of mid range. I dont hate him, he is solid but once you get a #1 (if Raptors ever get a #1) he would have to accept a different role.

Way better. IQ has been a bust. That contract is awful.

lol, RJ isn’t even close to matching the impact that IQ has. IQ is a better playmaker, demands the ball less, much better shooter and despite being much smaller, is a way more efficient player.

That’s wild to think RJ is better. RJ has 32% usage rate and a TS% of 51%. That’s horrendous.

And no, IQ’s contract is where it should be.

Quickley's contract is fine.

If he was playing, we wouldn't be having this conversation, plain and simple.
ArthurVandelay wrote:Ironically enough I think Masai’s future depends on losing this season.

He needs a franchise talent in the lottery who contributes immediately.

He also needs to pull off another financially driven Sacramento type trade.

I think he does both those things and he will continue in the post Larry T era, assuming Masai wants to continue and a contract can be reached.

If The Raptors aren’t a legit 7/8 seed next year and a team on the rise, then I don’t think he’s leading the Raptors beyond 2025-2026.

2 things:

1. Ed Rogers has been overly patient with the Jays management despite how badly they've screwed things up over the past few seasons. Bobby Webster and Masai Ujiri will probably be fine unless the team just doesn't improve and the team's attendance dips - and the latter doesn't seem to be in any danger going by current ticket prices.

2. Management is likely on the same page as Masai/Bobby re: franchise talent and believing Scottie Barnes is that. Are they right in that assessment? It remains to be seen, Scottie is only 23 years old, but they clearly believed in him enough to not overrule Masai and Bobby in the various rumored trades for Dame and Kevin Durant unlike what Philly's management did to Darly Morey in forcing them to trade James Harden earlier than Morey would like.

Theoretically yes, but he hasn't lived up to that. I was very excited when we got him but so far RJ has been better for us. I hope IQ's play can match his contract eventually.

IQ has been injured. He played well for us last year. Not many point guards can put up 20/5/7 on good efficiency. That’s what IQ did for us in the last two months of the year.

His contract isn’t bad. Salary cap isn’t what it used to be.

Yeah IQ is sort of forgotten on how good he can be. Most are excited to see the jump Dick has done but IQ is already that and more.

How everyone ends up meshing remains to be seen due to our numerous injuries, but we have a nice collection of guys who can get 20+ points on any given night.

would like to see a solid month of our full roster to really get a good idea of the fit.

on dec 1, 2013, we were 6-10 and on jan 1, 2014, we were 14-14 before going on a run to 48 wins.

on jan 1, 2007, we were 13-18 before going on a run to 47 wins.

our schedule has been brutal and we had many injuries. anything can happen. we can get worse, stay the same or get better. will be a fun ride finding out.

The notion that this team needs to add a franchise level player this draft or everything is a failure is wrong.

If they draft a Gradey Dick level prospect this year even things are smooth sailing

Seeing a full roster also allows Walter, Mogbo, Shead and Battle to be down on the 905 getting bigger minutes for their development and them building chemistry with Chomche for the possible future.

Barnes, IQ, RJ, Ochai, Yak
Mitchell, Dick, Brown, Boucher, Olynyk
Bruno, Temple

Plenty of playable depth to see how things mesh. I do wonder if we instead deal with mysterious injuries all year to keep wins a bit more suppressed since we are so far under .500 already.

I just want us to keep up the compete level win or lose. But a game like tonight vs Cavs could humble the team and be a reminder of hiw far they still have to grow(if we suffer a lopsided loss).

Be even smoother with a Top 3 pick.

What’s the point of drawing fouls when you can’t make fts though embarrassing we’re getting calls
