It’s going to be interesting how Mosley decides to handle things when Paolo returns.

Obviously Franz and Paolo will play the first five and last five minutes of each half together when the five starters are on the floor.

But what happens in those other 28 minutes?

Does Mose stagger them so one of them is on the floor at all times?

Or are they so good together that he tries to maximize the minutes they play together to blow teams off the court?

There are two suns on Tatooine.
Franz is sure capable but I still think he doesn't like the attention, he is just a team player and a perfect second star. Paolo will score more for sure, hope it works out well for us.

The German Elephant has better stats than Tatum at 23 if you look at per 36 mpg. Tatum was 6th in MVP voting that season.

I’d stagger them. When they are both playing at all-nba levels, they are playing heliocentric basketball. Having shooters next to them instead of another star makes the most sense… if the others can hit open shots…

Franz still on the front page of yahoo.com with an article at least for me, when i reloaded it it was gone from the top part, then next time, it was back again. Just linking in case anyone wants to read some positive national media coverage of the Magi:

Franz Wagner feeling himself against the Lakers? A dangerous development for all Magic foes

It's not super in-depth or anything; the Ringer article is better, but enjoy! (if you want)

Yeah I enjoy his vids/streams too. I had this one opened at one point but never got around to watching most of it.

I just hope that Franz keeps this mentality when Paolo comes back. It well be great for a team lacking offense.

The videos of Franz I am being referred to is astounding. But nobody seems to say anything I didn't already know, I have watched a couple, if to just see highlights I may have missed.

Can Paolo and Franz coexist on the same team, bring out the best basketball version of themselves together, and lead a team together to winning?

Can both of them become efficient shooters? That’s the real question.

Are our two MAX go-to players actually 3-level scorers when it matters?

That is the question that needs to be answered.

We need to explore what players would be available in return for Franz. Hopefully we can get someone just as good but a better fit.

Well in theory we have two ballhandling non positional threats, but in practice you can easly switch between them and its just taking turns.
Maybe the eye test is wrong but they seem to be more confident and selfless playing separately.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

What’s your problem with this thread if you read it from the first page, this was a question that it was all about the two of them playing effectively together. If one of them has to go it looked like it would be Franz.

This thread singles out Franz in a way that feels more like scapegoating than analysis, especially when it veers into questioning his mental makeup and contract pressure. If the goal is to talk about how to optimize Franz and Paolo’s fit, or the need for a combo guard to balance the offense, great, we are doing that in other threads and have been discussing it all season. But it doesn’t require framing it as some uncomfortable truth about Franz that people are afraid to say.

My intention isn’t to scapegoat Franz, I’m honesty asking the question can the learn to play off each other and reach full potential. If you had to pick either Paolo or Franz to build your franchise around and trade one away it’s debatable and you couldn’t go wrong with either choice, it’s a unique problem we’d have. Franz is so great at what he does good, and so so bad at shooting the three. Does he do enough other things great to make up for that bad shot? Yea he probably does in my opinion.

Paolo is a scapegoat all the time lol. People were ready to trade him for Deni Avdija not too long ago. With Franz’s contract, it’s only reasonable to highlight his concerns. Trading either one would be ignorant unless one of them requests a trade (wouldn’t doubt if Paolo does eventually).
