I've been looking at that, however, I cant imagine they give up a 1st for JV only. The 2025 LAC 2nd looks interesting in the 45-48 range, but thats about it.
That said, I think another opportunity has come up that could bring it all home. GSW just lost their only other lead guard for the year (Melton), and Curry will be 37 in a few months. Brogdon seems like the PERFECT high IQ, elite shooting, versatile guard for them.
Main parts/Bones of the trade as follows:
Wiz in: Vanderbilt, Vincent, Melton
Wiz Out: Brogdon, JV
LAL in: JV, GPii
LAL Out: Vanderbilt, Vincent
GSW In: Brogdon
GSW Out: Melton, GPii
Why LAL: JV & GPii are both talent upgrades and cost savings. The question becomes if its worth a protected 1st for them. I think it would be given the talent increase while saving 2.7M this year, and ~13M next year.
Why GSW: Brogdon is the perfect guard to add to that rotation, and they only lose a 10th man (GPii) in the process. They have plenty of picks, so its just about settling in on the right value.
For the Wiz, we buy out/waive Melton, take on Vincents 11.5M contract next year, as well as a buy low contract in Vanderbilt. He is only 25, and is the type of tough, versatile defender/rebounder that can play with Sarr. He's a classic C on offense, and a 3/4 on defense.
The question really is...what assets can we garner from this. The GSW 2025 1st seems obvious for both sides, and we could toss them back their 2nd to close the small gap, if necessary.
For LAL, I would think their 2029/2030 1st with lotto protections could work.
