The usual stuff of Mobley having to space when Allen is in the action and how the plays die when it's Mobley as the screener and Allen's man being able to blow it up. The Celtics game where Allen couldn't close.

It's the same problem we have with Jak and Barnes, but nice to have a media guy bring up all these aspects of the game as part of analysis. Hope he makes it a regular part of the segment.

The fix is much easier for Cleveland: move Allen.

We don't want Barnes at C, which means we still need to find another C. there are very few Cs in this league that can shoot 3s, protect the rim, rebound and go one on one with the 7-footers. Other than Porzingis, Brook Lopez, and maybe JJJ (you give up the rebounding battle with him), are there any other bigs that could fill this role? We're better off making sure everyone other than Barnes and whoever we have at C can shoot. Which again means no room for Barrett long term.

Reports of the tank's demise have been greatly exaggerated.

Draymond is a triggerman. Scottie is a playmake there’s a difference.

I personally think he should strive to be a Garnett type. He's the engine that drives the team and makes the timely baskets when they need it but he will need a Pierce type to do most of attacking to score. He already plays like that.

His go-to move that he's working on is that same turnaround mid range jumper Garnett used to take.
Garnett needed a pierce for the timely buckets. His got sweatier than he already normally was late in games.

Garnett also has a top 1% motor(especially defensively)i just don't see scottie having, and is as good as a player can get that isn't an alpha #1 scorer type. Its really tough for scottie to compare to that.

It's a worthy target for the development team though, I'd agree.

No one is asking for him to just be a triggerman. However, if he can't bend defenses, what's the point of giving him the ball up top and getting him to dribble the air out of the ball?

Would you call Jokic "just a triggerman"?

so who do you give the ball to then? cause IQ cant get two feet in the paint at will so that leaves only RJ who can bend a defence on this roster. I'd rather give Barnes the reps.

Well RJ doesn't really have the playmaking chops. It's IQ once he comes back; by far our best player at the point of attack. He and Barnes need to get a 2-man game going.

IQ is a ball stopper and has been a 6th man his entire career. As for Jokic i’d say he is a triggerman but unlike Draymond can get his at will.
