Even more interesting is that Franz will be the only playmaker in the starting unit. This looks like a Jett type game. The Hornets are going to do nothing but run and gun with 3s. Let Jett do the same.

I would not try to outgun those guards…lock them up and let the frontcourt win it

I'm shocked. Is Franz the only starter that can bring the ball up?

It's an indictment on Cole more than anyone. He's trusting Franz with the starters and AB off the bench more than having to give Cole more minutes than he has to.

Starting AB forces a lineup of Cole-Jett at some point.

Suggs barely handles the ball now. Franz has been our PG.

Experimental would actually be not having a PG off the bench.

LaMelo just had a 50 point game with Miller 32, I don't know who on this team is going to lock them up.

BTW Cole is top 6 in turnovers per 100 possessions and every other guy in the top 10 is someone who plays a massive amount of minutes. He's just not being trusted at all to run the team.

So, Orlando is missing three starters and is on the road; and is favored. Wow is the East weak.

It's a clear bet of Franz being able to run it decently (as he has) versus trusting Cole.

Plus, if Franz starts to struggle, you can simply just bring in AB.

The alternative is starting AB and Franz, and hoping Cole figures it out and then having to eat **** in those minutes because you're not going to play Franz 44 minutes.

Personally I don't like the fact that Franz has to do everything, at least with Suggs he had a reprieve....he could take a play off or two.......But thats gone now, can't trust anyone besides him to make a play.... Gary Harris, kcp? Yikes

Unfortunate but will happen with three starters out.. you gotta take a L somewhere so they're banking on Franz being on a heater rather than trusting Cole. Can't say Cole has done much to gain trust this year yet

I mean this is a next man up situation, Suggs go down you start the backup... Don't trust Cole fine, There's cojo vet point... But to go Harris to me is a bit left to me

This starting line up rams home the fact we need to trade for another playmaker. The fact that we cant trust Cole at all to run the 2nd unit anymore causes the trickle on effect of having to keeping AB in second unit where as we need him to start tonight.

It's almost entirely in line with what Mose has always done and it's worked. Start the person who fits the closest in terms of role (6'4 defensive first player SG playing PG, which is both Suggs and Harris, obviously with different levels to it lol) over destroying well-performing bench units who have tons of chemistry with each other.

Same with Goga starting over Moe or Isaac last year or Houstan filling in for Franz minutes when he was injured.

AB will still get tons of minutes. I don't think you hand-wave Cory Joseph or Cole Anthony minutes as some non-issue.

I think AB coming off the bench is because that’s his designated role, and it’s the best for his ability to be in the ball and not in a corner. But he also gets to play the transition minutes with Franz, so they still get plenty of experience playing alongside each other.

I know Suggs has stepped back lately, but I believe that’s because Franz has been crushing it and Suggs is trying not to get in the way. But I suspect he’s still the intended ‘next man up’ as a playmaker for now. He’ll be back into the mix of secondary playmakers once his game settles down again.

Cole not getting minutes is purely on Cole. I’m surprised Jett hasn’t clinched that spot firmly already since his warts pale in comparison to Cole’s struggles.
