He just doesn't want the contact, he's shooting a career low from the line, but it's on low volume so it's impossible to tell whether he can make freethrows or not. But, the fact he actively avoids trying to get to the line isn't good.

He’s playing himself into a 3 years $50m extension!

Even at his worst, Mikal is still averaging 16/4/4 shooting 46% overall from the field and 30% from three for the season

Those numbers are not good, they're awful to be honest. We have a guy shooting 30% from three and he doesn't get to the line, he's playing arguably the worst basketball of his career right now.

I don't even think that Mikal will continue to shoot this poorly all season but his defense is atrocious to the point where I'm about sick of it. His effort is garbage and he needs to be held accountable.

He needs to get back to what made him a good player.

Jumpshooting team with suspect defence. The 4th quarter was also Knicks starters versus Denver bench. Sp Thibs ran it up a lot.

But yes when the Knicks are shooting well the team looks brilliant. They cut and pass more.
