That trade was so bad for the Blazers it made Dame leave.

MP, please keep that post. If Hart ever has a poor game or plays badly in the preseason, you can recycle it and help this board to not explode over him again.

You would think the world was ending with his preseason....people have been around Josh Hart long enough that he doesn't take preseason serious and he just talks to talk.

I say it facetiously but if you look at the Blazers' on/off from that year those two were the only two with a positive net ranking. They were a playoff team with Hart/Lillard on the floor and battling for the worst team in the league with them off. Hart just wins.

Vs... well... Cam.

I've said from the beginning of the season, even through those opening few games that the Knicks are an elite contender this year, no doubt.

This roster can win a championship with Thibs as the head coach. It's that talented, and Thibs has enough positive impact with his attention to detail and general schemes. The problems those of us who are not sold on him being the best option have are his flaws. They did not appear or get exploited last night, and the supreme talent and harmony of the way this roster fits has the chance to keep them covered more often than not.

Nights like Phoenix and last night where they go out and shoot 50/60/90 as a team (absolutely unreal to watch) do not address the main concerns about Thibs as a coach. He has a specific way he puts this roster in position to shine, and the massive scoring talent that Leon has assembled shined extra bright. The concern is what happens when the shots aren't falling for the Knicks, or ARE falling for the opposition, and Thibs' specific ways aren't working, or even worse, are getting actively attacked and exploited.

This team as constructed is a multi-faceted championship-caliber roster that has the ability to beat you in a multitude of ways. I don't believe Thibs is similarly dynamic as a coach.

Also, he's a maniac.

Have you weighed in on a replacement? Atkinson would have been good but he seems to be off the market. I'm not sure who I'd target.

And imagine if bridges can become good again. Team might be decent.

Bridges mid-range shooting has been elite this season. It's the above-the-break 3-point shots that have cratered him 3 point percentage.

Well, they knew. Not to brag, but there were also a few posters on this board who had watched a lot of Minnesota games  I did think he was soft two years ago, but last year he just looked really smooth and smart out there. Better passer for sure, despite Randle’s better numbers.

He is the real deal after all.

I watched this man win 38 games in a row for my favorite team before he ever got shipped to that cesspool in Minnesota I’ve always been 10 toes down

Thibs gets until this summer... then Dan Hurley takes over. That's how I see it going.

I think Thibs will do his best and get us to ECF though that may not be enough given our relatively small 3-4 year window to get a title before our eventual reset. Leon's got all his chips on the table and if he feels Thibs can't take us to the promise land, he will pivot. You can bet on it.

It really was evident, wasn't it?

Sometimes it comes down to effort and better execution to go along with the right defensive strategy.

We will still have some match-up concerns until we get a bigger rotation up front, but most nights we should be competing defensively regardless.

Tonight they showed they can compete on defense NOW and don't need to make excuses about missing players.

If not for the fact that we got one of those missing players back. :o
Schematically we also helped a lot from the corner and blitzed nearly every side pnr. This was a much more aggressive defensive scheme overall compared to what we've been watching.

I saw way more effort. If this was scheme, hope Thibs doesn’t go back like he did after the first Indiana game. I’m watching for both to be there vs Dallas.

Anyone notice that weird little underhanded pass KAT threw off a rebound? Was nothing that notable except he’s just got a lot of natural passing skill. Natural player. Deserves a ring in NY.

It would have to be somebody either of that stature or they bring in their version of Mazzulla. But, given Leon, likely the bigger hire vs. the up and comer.

I've stated I think it's ECF or bust.

Yeah. We got Deuce back. Shh. Don't ruin this for me. We got Precious coming back soon! We get deeper and more versatile by the day! We are going to be open to a whole new world of possibilities as we grow from the ashes into the great Phoenix!! Turning all of our opponents to ashes in our rise to Glory!!!

How was that? A little too much in the end or...? It just kinda poured out into the screen.
