Re: season trades
Lakers have enough scoring with AD, Lebron, Reaves and Knetch.
They need athletic defenders that can hold their own on offense.
Players like Zion, Cam Thomas, are terrible targets, this is not 2K.

When talking about athletic defenders, Vando would be a good fit once he is back. I just hope he could shoot better because he will be left open a lot of times and opponents will let him take that shot. Another thing Vando could do is to consistently do backdoor cuts and take scoring opportunities from put backs to compensate his offense if he can't be a good three point shooter.

Vando is exactly what this team needs on defense, the issue is with him you end up playing 4 vs 5 on offense.
It's a must to trade those 1st rounders and upgrade with someone the other team has to at least not leave completely open.

I know the issue with Vando that is why I said that he needs to knock down shots, but since we know that he's not very good at it then he needs another way to contribute on offense thus he needs to find ways to do backdoor cuts and try to do putbacks or follow ups.

Re: season trades
A few easy trades they should consider:
KCP for D’Lo and JHS.
KCP is a solid 3s/D wing, but the Magic just paid Suggs and also have Black, so perhaps they would prefer som offense from D’Lo as well as saving some money.
Walker Kessler for Hayes, Lewis and a FRP.
LA get a solid defender to be back-up to AD at the price of a FRP.
This opens up a few roster spots that would allow LA to sign a veteran, such as Lonnie Walker or Markelle Fultz.

You shoulda listened to that voice in your head.....TWO first round picks for a dude who gives you 9-points and 10 rebounds?? I mean come on man. Picks that won't come up until Lebron is gone, and AD will be a shell, no less.
No offense, but I think you seriously overrate what this team is now, and what it will be in 3 years....and I think you seriously underrate the value of what picks will mean to us moving forward. Two picks for some complete ho-hum slab of beef to stick at center is ridiculous.

Re: season trades
And while I love the Lavine trade....didn't Chicago say they wanted like 4 picks for him? The trade your describing is basically telling Chicago "here....we'll take that salary off your hands". I think Chicago expects much, much more than that. I could be wrong. If they'd be willing to make that trade, then great.

Re: season trades
Here is an article about the Nets willing to make trades, as long as they don't take long-term contracts back:
"Just about everyone on their roster is available as long as they don't take back long-term money," one source told ESPN of Brooklyn. "They're not giving anyone away. At least not yet."
The Nets are expected to entertain offers for veterans like Dennis Schroder, Dorian Finney-Smith and Bojan Bogdanovic. Brooklyn has also let it be known that younger players like Cam Thomas, Cameron Johnson and Nic Claxton could be available if the right offer came along.
===============================================================================
Prob a good place to look, if your the Lakers, desperate to make a move. There's nothing I want, but you have DLo's expiring. So if you really want to make a move that doesn't cripple this team for half a decade (or more)....prob start there. Schroeder, Finney, and Bojan from a team desperate to shed salary, is a more realistic idea of what we can expect for DLo's expiring.

lol, sadly It's that's what going to cost to get him, others such as Claxton/Richards will all cost both pics most likely and I like Kessler out of all 3.

I don't think Richards is going to cost a first. Charlotte fans hate him, he's just an alright backup at best.

Well then, we pass. A) he's not worth 2 picks and B) He's not enough to win a title.
If your gonna throw away multiple first round picks.....then it better be for a title.

DFS, cam Thomas and Schroeder can def give us a lot more depth and I think Jonas can be had for cheap.
gabe, vando, max lewis, hood and a unprotected frp swap for DFS and Schroeder. Schroeder in the starting lineup makes sense.
max Christie and wood for Jonas
Schroeder/Dalton/DFS/LeBron/AD
DLO/AR/reddish/rui/jonas

Well it puts us about $25-30million into that dreaded 2nd tier. And since Lebron signed his 2-year deal, he would have no reason to renegotiate his deal. Why would he? Let the Lakers suck it up. So that makes me think two things: A) when Lebron floated his salary cut out there, the bulls could have made their move. Tells me they wanted more than just salary relief. Maybe they are more desperate now?? Let's just say they are. Well then, it would sound to me like they'd have to wait until the offseason, so that the Lakers could try and convince Lebron to opt out. But then....DLo's contract expires. So I'm not sure how this will work. If Chicago is willing to take Rui for a whole year, I guess it could be done.
Yeah, I suppose it could work. We wont have a pick next draft...so no new salary there. We'd prob have to drop 4 or 5 contracts like Wood, Hayes, Reddish, and grab vet min out there. But we could get under the cap.
So just know something: THIS IS IT. You've committed. Your keeping AD till he's 35, and your not getting anything for him at that point. The rebuild will start after that, and there will be zero help. You think Lavine takes us to the promised land??? Cause I really gotta question that. Between a 41 and 42 year old Lebron, Lavine and AD's injury histories.....you better hope God is a Laker fan. And I mean a jersey-wearing hardcore fan.
I still think rebuilding is the way to go....but I have to admit it makes them better. If Lavine works out, and fits in well....it would certainly make them contenders.
