We've got to remain fair, so truth be told, this was one heck of a coaching job ... by Troy Aikman. Switzer didn't do ****.

Switzer was Jerry's first puppet after running Jimmy out of time. That was Jerry's first attempt of giving us the finger and saying, "I'll show you". 29 years later we are all waiting, except the young generation Cowboy fans. They just think its all bad luck.

Switzer was awful, truly awful. Undoubtedly the worst (NFL) coach in history to win a Super Bowl. The man even hosted a big party less than 48 hours before kickoff, knowing he'd never make it back there.

That team won in spite of him, further cementing what a disaster Jerry made of things because he couldn't handle Jimmy getting the majority of credit for the success on the field.

Amen brother! Spot on once again. Of course being a lifelong Cowboy fan for 54 years, you don't have to convince me. I've been saying this for over 3 decades in 3 different forums over the years since Jerry ran Jimmy out the door. The problem is the young generation Cowboy fans that think luck is the reason they have been so bad for 30 years.

That’s been the case since 1985 hasn’t it.

Today's win vs the Redskins had major implications on the future personnel of the team. That's why I am saying a lot of it is just plain luck. It's out of Jerry's or Steven or anyone else's control.

I won't say it's 100% luck. Dallas was very lucky to have Lamb fall to them but Jerry still had to have the wits to select him with Amari Cooper on the team.

And trades are the same, some of it is sheer football IQ and savvy, and some of it is just being flat out lucky enough to have all the pieces in place. And Jimmy had the pieces in place in Dallas, but not in Miami.

It's probably 50/50 thing. Lots of grey area. But make no mistake, a lot of which players end up on which teams is just the luck of the draw.

The Cowboys players just aren't a bunch of pussy losers like their fans who want to tank for higher draft pick.

Ok as someone not familiar with the history of Jerry Jones all that much, what exactly makes him so bad? Why is it unfixable? Isn’t this mostly a player issue? I just feel like they haven’t had the right QB…between Romo and Dak, you’re going on close to 20 years of having a choke artist of a QB who puts up big RS numbers and then wilts in the playoffs. Is that really a Jerry Jones problem? He’s invested heavily in the team and has built some really talented rosters over the years.

Clearly the dominant showing against Washington shows that Cowboys are on the right path.

They got the Giants on Thanksgiving. Another W. McCarthy might just save his job.

They realistically they could win the next 3 games. If that happens Jerry might put a statue of himself outside the stadium.

Jerry already knows he is going to fire McCarthy, but obviously when asked he has to say McCarthy is the man. He isn't going to tell the media he is planning to move from McCarthy and the season is over as that would cause chaos.

I think what I just said is probably obvious to most of you, but not quite all of you.

Maybe Jerry is gonna flip a coin at the end of the season, whether to fire McCarthy.

Actually edit: Jerry will not fire McCarthy as it is the end of his contract. He just knows he won't be extending him.

Belichick is coming. There is no 12-5 season to delay it this time.

You sure? I mean this is the same guy that stuck with Jason Garrett way longer than he should've.

I don't think McCarthy will be back myself. But you never know with Jerry. I mean common sense said he should've moved on after the Green Bay debacle.

He did stick with Garrett too long. Then he won coach of the year and felt the need to keep him.
MM is dead man walking. There not going to change the GM or start spending money in free agency so changing the complete coaching staff will be the change to create optimism.

Garrett was harder for Jerry to fire because #1 he only had 1 losing season and that is when Romo was out with broken ribs, and #2 he has a very very long and dedicated relationship with Garrett. Jason was actually training to be a coach while playing as Troy's backup. He wanted to be a coach very early on and voiced it to Jerry way back in the 90s.

McCarthy doesn't have that relationship with Jerry. And we are going to finish sub - .500. And on top of that his contract is up. It couldn't be any easier to say goodbye.

I actually liked what MM said in response. He didn’t really comment on his job but said he’s not throwing away any positive vibes either. He knows that regardless of what Jerry said he gone in the off season. No sense in being negative especially after a rare win this season.
