Blake picks a pocket runs away with his price to reward himself at the rim.

3RD Q: SPURS 96 JAZZ 93
Eking out a lead but left a lot of chances on the court.
Wemby has been incredible, flexing his immense talent versus three defenders on that last bucket.
Very strong D by Blake and solid tempo push to score. Good two way contribution.
Stephon. What a great game.
Barnes coming alive.
CP3 clutch 3.
Let's keep it good to great, pay attention to details, and finish strong.

Julian stroke heating up at just the right time. There's no bad time of course, well except stat padding in a blowout, but he's doing well to make our cushion bigger.

Castle end of game 3 to seal it.
Points differential counts so the holding up the ball in a sure win does not apply.
Quality come from behind win on the strength of a second half push.

4TH Q: SPURS 128 JAZZ 115
Very proud of our team.
I'm sure Pop will have something to say about all those 3s... It's less the number (though that, too) than the quality of shots. We may be closing in on top 10 in attempts but right shots and smart selection still matter. I guess being on the first of a B2B makes for a more efficient use of energy to take 48 of 93 shots from 3 though as a team we rank 17th in efficiency this season (both attempts and makes rate much better than near bottom before).
Our ball movement and off ball movement and spacing looked better in the second half. We look like a team getting to know one another's tendencies and preferences better. Reps help.
Julian man D has looked impressive and effective.
Blake man D has been there reliably but this game he really stood out well with his O contributions, good shooting, smart cuts, taking advantage and making the most of his minutes.
Mamu had another solid O contribution and good rim protection.
Area 51 aka Castle and Wemby are clearly developing great chemistry quickly, and flourishing with one another. Incredible two way play.
In a dark corner of my mind lays an idea I don't want to see the light but...
I love Devin. Love his game. Love how hard he's worked to get to this point. Love his beffie vibes with Wemby. But... He's not where Castle already is coming into the league. And if we need to strike at a rare hot opportunity to get a great upgrade, you have to give something to get something. I loathe the idea of potentially parting with Devin and hope it doesn't come to that, but Castle has very quickly raised his status to pretty much near untradeable and does a lot of what Devin does, even if his O is less polished, as it would be for a rook. Ok, closing the door on that thought...
We won the second half 62-49, won three of four Qs but for the first one, poured in 30+ in each Q, and held the opponent under 30 in the latter two Qs.
Our ability to come back and find ways to catch up and take back leads comes not only from more contributions around Wemby but if course from his own growing game. He's flourishing and we are with him; higher floor, higher ceiling.
Getting 30 assists and making only 10TOs while forcing 21TOs from which we got a whopping 31 points, winning the fast break points 24-10 and getting to the FT line 26 times (making a good 20) are indicative of a team gelling well and focusing on D.
We have faced the same teams a lot so far this season but with nearly 20% of it done we have already made huge strides from last season. That may not be saying much given we didn't win our 10th game until late January last season, but we are in a tough West and missing two terrific starters in Dev and Jeremy. Every team faces challenges and we have navigated being without key contributors and Pop well enough for now that it stands out.
We will of course need them all back when the challenges of the rest of the season have to be faced but it having guys step up and level up is a joy to see, even if it is versus teams we 'should' be winning against, even if familiarity makes for taking advantage of some perceived weaknesses. We were not this resilient team last season and it's good experience to have going forward versus tougher competition.
Onwards together.
GSG!
