Blake Snell, Dodgers Agree To Five-Year, $182M Deal

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Nov 27, 2024 4:16 am

Blake Snell and the Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to a five-year, $182 million contract. Snell opted out of the final season of his two-year, $62 million deal with the San Francisco Giants on Nov. 1 to become a free agent for the second straight offseason.

Snell won the Cy Young in 2023 with the San Diego Padres, but had a soft free agent market last winter. Snell had a 9.51 ERA after his first six starts in 2024, but went 5-3 with a 3.12 ERA and 145 strikeouts in 104 innings over 20 starts when he returned from his groin strain.

Wow :o Might as well hand the dodgers next year's trophy now. They still need to trade Kershaw, who's been a schottenheimer in the playoffs. Can't take any chances. I feel for padres fans. I guess Snell wasn't as big as a padre fan growing up as he said. What I don't like about this deal is the hypocrite yankee fans like Stephen A. Smith not liking this deal. Payback for his statement in 2009, STOP CRYING! It was ok when the yankees, knicks, & rangers would try to snatch up everybody that plays the game to field their all star teams-mainly yankees & rangers b4 the salary cap.
Blame either the players or the owners that didn't want a salary cap.
