Mann definitely looked more like a scoring guard than a point guard to me, but whatever works.

Having Cody next to him helps.

Lee arrived at the (correct) conclusion that running a secondary playmaker as a primary playmaker with the second unit (in this case) will result in winning basketball, because Mann playing that role is an upgrade over Micic playing his even though Micic is specialized as a floor general.

You lose your job when someone less specialized outproduces you.

Or...... Lee is putting his best ten guys on the floor and letting them figure it out. And right now vasa is not one of the best 10 players, for whatever reason. And as we mentioned, Cody was running as the primary Playmaker for most of the second unit last night not that it matters. Also we still don't know if Vasa didn't play last night because he was sick. he had been on the injury report with illness up until right before the game so there is still the possibility that's why he didn't play last night. Not arguing that he should have played, as I mentioned before, with Miller back, the second unit should be mann Curry and Cody which is more than enough ball handling and passing.

We should probably just celebrate we got these players for a retired Hayward.

Through 5 games:

21 PPG with splits 47/44/100

He's taking good shots, not getting lucky. I expect a little regression from 3 but Lee's system seems to work for Tre's game.

No doubt when Miller returns, Mann remains in the closing lineup.

So happy Mann is restricted instead of unrestricted.

We will match, so don't bother bidding.

I strongly encourage everyone to go back and re-watch or watch Tre Mann in the 3rd quarter last night where for a stretch he was dominating the game like stars do.

What a welcome surprise. Internal development? Yes, please. He's been the best Hornet on the roster for stretches, including that 3rd quarter stretch. Thanks for hanging on just long enough, Gordo.

Tre Mann according to EPM is a 1% finisher at the rim. Shooting 41% this year, pretty gross.

Good things about the team overall, and Kemba’s help plus other coaches. Also notes how Melo is dedicated to becoming more of a two way player, focusing on defense. In this quote referring to a fast paced running style offense, Mann may have revealed why his efficiency is down from earlier games:

“It complements a lot of our games,” Tre Mann said. “I think that’s why they chose this style—knowing the players we have. When you’re playing fast, you have less time to think and just go off reactions, reading the defense and your teammates. I feel like I play my best when I’m free and not overthinking things, so that fast pace really helps.”

When the Hornets can’t rebound and run, their half court game has no inside offense, so it becomes iso ball. Mann has had his moments but teams have adjusted to his shot creation techniques.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Just saying, this is the second time this week the medical staff is clearing guys to play and them immediately ending back up on the injury report with the same injury after the game.

I don’t follow other teams medicals that closely, is this something that happens to other teams constantly, specifically with acute tissue injuries like Mann/Bridges, not chronic tendinitis etc?

Seems like something concerning thats carried over from the previous regime. Whatever they are doing in their RTP workouts doesn’t seem to be emulating game contact

I have never understood the logic behind complaining about "slow healers" like Gordon, Mark, and the other injury milkers AND ALSO complaining about guys being "rushed back" from injury.

The med staff is either one or the other.

Miles himself said he felt better so there wasn't any need to sit out. He made that decision.
