Re: PG: Knicks vs. Mavericks (They Left Their Offense in Denver)
So far our super offense is 0-4 against top 10 defenses this season.
We’re like the bizzaro pacers from last year. Any given night we might put up 130+ and smoke you but we play no defense and our coach is a bimbo so who knows what you’ll get night in and out. Oh and we have the slowest pace not the fastest so when we look bad oh man it’s ugly.
The rockets this year play like us from last year.

Dadiet has proven he's not a liability defensively...he can't give you a few mins?
What is Mcbride doing only playing 15 mins?
Its excuse making to say he doesn't have a bench...make it work...stagger them so the guys you don't have a ton of confidence are in with your top players. Its not rocket science.
Also OG and some of our guys just nearly played 80 mins in DEN and UTAH. How do you know that didn't impact them at the start of this game. Fatigue and tired legs can get you even before a game sometimes. You don't have to be in minute 36 to show fatigue...
They did. Did you not see McBride getting cooked out there by Dinwiddie? Yeah not playing the bench more minutes was really the issue tonight. We totally didn’t get shut down defensively and cooked up offensively and that includes the guys on our bench who did play. But yeah sure Deuce was too tired too then I guess. As was Sims as was Payne. They did nothing out there either. Have you seen Matt Ryan play defense? He’s not good. Pacome showed some nice defensive moments and I’m sure his time will come eventually but he’s still learning so I’m not crying over him not playing right now. Dinwiddie cooked our bench and starters. Deuce couldn’t even shut him down and Deuce was forcing him into some tough shots too but he was still making them. Nobody on the bench was saving the game or saving the starters.
it has nothing to do sometimes with winning the game. Sometimes you need to cut your losses and get guys in just to save guys to fight another day.
And who knows if a guy that typically doesn't play has a good stretch maybe he has some confidence to run with him for the next game.
I have no idea what your argument is...everyone got cooked including the bench so your solution is not play the bench.
This isn't the playoffs...he's running a playoff rotation in November...no one is arguing when the games becomes even bigger you can thin out the rotation to the main guys. RIght now that is unacceptable especially in a game where the starters got punched in the mouth early and didn't play with the right effort and energy.
Its a long season...you better start trusting or getting contributions from the bench or guys like OG won't make it through the year healthy.
You act like they haven’t bounced back the next game after every game you complain about fatigue. They were tired against Pacers then they whooped Philly next game. Tired against Bulls then they won 4 in a row. Tired against Utah then they destroyed Denver on their home court. You are so worried about health and playoffs and ignoring the steps that are needed to even get there and develop into the team you hope for them to be. You think we are that good that we will just be getting through these experienced teams who have played together for years once the playoffs start? Yes it’s still early and it’s still November but they have ways to go. They also need to figure out if this is really the final group that they will depend on to make that playoff push. Do we need to make a rotation change? Roster change? Are we looking for another star? Or a high end role player? Bench piece? Or starter replacement? I’m not sold on this team, there’s something missing. They’ll have to figure that out too

I think we're missing Precious and Mitch something crazy. Th knicks need to have a defensive big line up or we're prone to get abused in the paint. I also think it would help Bridges POA defense which since guards wouldn't just push on the jets because they know Mitch in the paint.

That Maverick team went to the finals. We dont even have our bench developed and we are missing two bigs. We didnt have a chance against that team in their house-especially after they heard about what we did to Denver...
Game 18. No Mitch...No Precious and no developed bench. End of story.

Yes ramming 40 minutes a night for the starters is certainly a step needed to get to the playoffs....
This isn't black and white...there is nuance to this. Waving the white flag or living to fight another day isn't preventing us from getting anywhere. Teams will have bad nights...teams will be sluggish on certain nights. On those nights maybe the win or loss isn't the most important its getting through the game and seeing what the bench can do.
Like you said we have had clunkers early in the year...that isn't to be unexpected for a new team that was put together with a new identity right before training camp.
I'm saying Thibs needs to be smarter especially in games he is trailing...he tends to even have a shorter leash because he panics and doesn't trust when sometimes the bench is needed for a spark. You wont know unless you use them and not for a couple minute stretch.
Its simple unsustainable.
We go back and forth on this all the time. OG had no business playing +40 minutes tonight. There is simply not an argument to be made.
In other situation maybe...but your just defending thibs to defend him. There is a reason we also suck in the 4th qtr of games....its the same team that typically has success in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd qrts but falls apart in the 4th.

With no Luka, no Gafford, no Klay I don't think that a good enough excuse to say we are missing two bigs.

I know you guys are hot tonight but I stand by what I said. We just played the champs of the west. Klay wasnt on that team. They added Naji- who's better than Derrick. Today, we cant beat the defending champs on their home floor with our new team-much less our short handed new team mph...

I just watched the end of Ws/Thunder. What a damn shame we didn't give iHart the 3rd year.
Again, I wouldn't be surprised if it was his call and he bet on himself.

Folks in this board talk about precious and Mitch like it’s giannis and Hakeem
If we are seriously placing all of our chips on a role player and historically injury prone defensive center to save our season then that is not a good look. Oh yes don’t forget Landry shamet is the third musketeer who will catapult us to greatness.

Listen, Randle isn’t the answer, KAT seems to have holes that bring him down … we need an IHart. Maybe Precious will elevate.

If Mikal wont improve, he will get shipped out before February
he is playing worse than Grimes most of the time, and we gave for him practically 7 picks more plus Grimes
Towns / Sims (Huk)
Achiuwa / Hart
Anunoby / Bridges
McBride / Shamet (Kolek)
