poll: Orlando is the only undefeated home team

Post#1 » by drsd » Thu Nov 28, 2024 7:55 am

It is of course news that Orlando is the only team still undefeated at home. Indeed, their last loss at the Kia Center was on March 29.
Said another way, it has been 244 days since Magic fans have experienced a home loss.

WOW.

How happy are you with the Magic at home?

We should make a thread about both our starting guards shooting over 90% from the line. Suggs 93.1% and KCP 96.2%.

Good thing the Magic are going for a 5 game road trip now, otherwise this here would work as an immediate jinx. You know better than that, drsd!

This means the Magic WILL go at least 254 undefeated days at home. Great point.

After the coming 5-day road trip, the Magic play 7 straight at home, which ends the year.

We fans will thus have a Crystal clear view of this team by New Years day.

Great Jinx thread. Who are we playing next at home? Time to put some money down on that team.

Regarding that road trip... am i seeing this right? We face BKN twice? Then NY?

Does the team just stay in the same hotel?

We still have to get to 10 home wins to match the Cavs start.

Healthy Suns up next at home and it only gets worse.

Cavs or Boston at home would be the real test.

Has Orlando even beaten anyone with a winning record at home?

No; but a more fair question for me would be, "Has Orlando even played anyone with a winning record at home?"

10/26 Nets: no
10/28 Pacers: no
11/09 Pelicans: no
11/10 Wizards: god no
11/13 Hornets: no
11/14 Pacers: no
11/16 Sixers: no
11/24 Pistons: no
11/28 Bulls: no

Some of those are play-in teams though.

Right. So they haven’t played or beaten a good team at home.

I think they could beat a lot of the top end teams though fwiw. We should be glad they haven’t lost to bad teams at home. Thats about it.

"Play the Song" and "Duhon Dance" tied. So, we get both!

When F-Wagner went down, I was "SURE" you were correct. So happy with the Phoenix win (proving there is no jinx!).

Anyhow, this win now guarantees the Magic will go at LEAST 264 days without a home loss. This must be close to an NBA record. Right?

Not winning streaks. But rather, days without a home-arena loss. The 15/16 Warriors team for example "only" went 299 days: June 8, 2015, to April 2, 2016.

Is that the record? Maybe.

I looked it up: Orlando needs to avoid a Kia center loss until January 24, 2025 to go 300 days. To do that, Orlando must win their next 12 home games. Now THAT's a jinx post !!!
