Anthony Edwards Call Out Himself, Teammates, Fans After Wolves Loss

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Nov 28, 2024 2:30 pm

The Minnesota Timberwolves loss to the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday dropped them to 8-10 on the season. The fourth consecutive loss had Wolves star Anthony Edwards fired up postgame at himself, his teammates and the fans.

Edwards greeted the media by asking "What you wanna know, why we're trash?" From there, he called his team out for frontrunning.

"I don’t like frontrunners,” Edwards said. “Myself, I’m not a frontrunner. I hate to have frontrunners or to think we have frontrunners on the team. I don’t think we have any of those. It look like we was frontrunners tonight, 100%.

“We was down, nobody wanted to say nothing. We got up and everybody cheering. … We get down again and don’t nobody say nothing. That’s the definition of a frontrunner. We as a team, including myself, we all was frontrunners tonight.”

Edwards said that the team, himself included, aren't listening to or following the gameplan from the Minnesota coaches. He also called his team "soft" because they refuse to communicate with each other. He said the Timberwolves all of their own agendas, while also calling out the fans for booing them throughout recent home games.

“However many of us it is, all 15, we go into our own shell and we’re just growing away from each other. It’s obvious,” Edwards said. “We can see it. I can see it, the team can see it, the coaches can see it. The fans … booing us. That … is crazy, man. We’re getting booed in our home arena.”

Bring back KAT. Maybe he’s not as soft as Ant thought he was.

Don't call out fans. This day and age, teams charge ridiculous enough amount for fans to attend games that fans can boo if they feel like they are not getting what they paid for.

Even if Ant thought he was soft, he never said it publicly as far as anything I heard. He was probably his biggest defender (aside from stop ****ing fouling). It’s the rest of us who believe it.

If you read or watch the full comments by Edwards he wasn't calling out the fans, he was calling out the Wolves themselves.

(Poor Wiretap editing job once again)

No bueno, especially considering they were in the conference finals last year. It definitely seems like the Wolves haven't gelled and have poor chemistry in the locker room, Minny needs to get this sorted out before it snowballs and Edwards starts eyeballing a trade.

edit: I just noticed the final comment about the fans booing, my bad. I had seen two previous clips and commentary that focused only on him calling out his teammates(which is the bigger story).

I don't know what they expected when they switched out Towns with Randle. Towns was far from perfect but Randle is several levels below that. Not really conducive to winning.

Fans are not above criticism, that’s the problem.

For booing home team for poor effort/performance? They are. Especially when teams charge exorbitant amount for ticket prices.
