i used to make fun of it, but it's really cool for those end of the bench guys to get that extra cash. and the guaranteed contract guys generally pledge to donate the bonus money. so i fux with it.

That’s why McBride played so hard to get the dub. We paid him starvation wages

Kind of explains the Hornets tenacity too.

Dadiet, Sims/Hukporti, Payne and Deuce need to play.

Get these guys minutes down and maybe we'll see some better energy defensively.

Stagger Brunson and Towns.

I wonder if Sims playing 8 minutes is a symptom of inconsistency?

Sims has to be a professional and stay ready. He isn't offensive player so effort should always be at a 10 for him

thibs is gonna be summoning our starters from a row of coffins by the time all-star break rolls around - we should be much better and more fun to watch than this

like the only fun thing about this game was listening to hornets playbyplay's hearts slowly break as the game slipped away in the 4th

it's too early in the season for me to settle for enjoying the torment of others

Knicks starters will play 48 minutes if they make it to the cup.

But they won't, because they aren't good enough

It's why we should have used our bench more. They would've got up for this game a lot more than what Mikal Bridges was doing out there, just throwing away possessions and playing with zero intensity on D.

The Lakers hung a banner for it and they’re a respected organization. They set the precedent so we should do the same

Just gotta beat Orlando Tuesday at MSG and we are in the top 8. LFG

Honestly we should start calling the NBA Cup “the real nba championship” if we actually won the damn thing. Nobody really cares about basketball in June!

I don't think Thibs needs to run guys to death to win the cup but I still think it's good to play in high level competitive games

The minutes are just insane at this point, the Hornets are down several players and still managed to play more guys than us. It's actually shocking that some of you didn't learn from last season, if this keeps up the injuries will start happening and you all will act dumbfounded as to how it could happen.

You do not play guys as much as he does in the modern NBA, it's asking for trouble to come over and make you a full course meal of trouble.

Dadiet and Payne could have used minutes.

Bridges is playing 38mpg. Hart 37. OG 37.

There has to be a way to cut at least 4 to 5 minutes from all 3.

Ugly game but a win is a win. They still 3-2 on this road trip with bunch of weird times for the games. I’m gonna a try to be constructive and point to things i think need to change. The Knicks effort and execution has been terrible this year and it keeps coming back to them not being able to defend PNR. They aren’t just running drop either. They’ve been trying a bunch of stuff and it hasn’t looked much better. I think at minimum they need to switch Mikal off ball and let Hart try to guard point of attack. You just can’t have your worst defenders in every single action and you’re not replacing towns. You saw it down the stretch of this game too. Best play of the game was deuce and towns guarding PNR in a shallow drop.

The other thing that needs to happen is Thibs really needs to play Dadiet or Ryan. Preferably Dadiet. 8 man rotation is dumb and the wings need a few minute break. As much as I hate Mikal, he shouldn’t be playing 16 mins straight. Theres just no way you can tell me that Dadiet doesn’t deserve the Obi special off the bench aka 8-14 mins depending on how well he’s playing. Thibs not playing him just makes me know we’re destined for stupid precious and sims line ups whenever precious gets back.
