No effort, no mercy.

So it’s just an effort thing with Mikal? Genuinely searching for answers

Our offense is working on strictly talent, there's no imagination to anything we run. I posted these GIFs before, but when have you ever seen us run action for KAT like this?

There was another play they run with Lauri where he starts near the corner and runs an angle screen for the ball handler then slips it and shoots.

All the stuff we do is basic, it's screen for Brunson by KAT and maybe he pops or drives, but it's always at the top of the key.

I mean Towns is having the best season of his career and our offensive rating is second best in the league. Towns is fine(offensively). They get open shots all the time but Mikal OG and Hart were combined 2-12 from three.

All jokes aside, hoisting a "regular season tournament" trophy is actually peak Tom Thibodeau experience.

The Lakers hung a banner for it and they’re a respected organization. They set the precedent so we should do the same

Just gotta beat Orlando Tuesday at MSG and we are in the top 8. LFG

Honestly we should start calling the NBA Cup “the real nba championship” if we actually won the damn thing. Nobody really cares about basketball in June!

LFG! Team Thibs we out here!

Mikal stopped playing defense cause he got paid. Wasn’t because of his bigger role on offense on the nets

Get these guys minutes down and maybe we'll see some better energy defensively.

Stagger Brunson and Towns.

I wonder if Sims playing 8 minutes is a symptom of inconsistency?

His stat line was very consistent

8 minutes

0 points
0 rebounds
0 assists
0 blocks
0 steals
0-0 shooting
-1

This is the caliber of our bench

Our offense doesn't look good against teams that can switch because it's rudimentary, when it should shred them all the same. The offense could be better with more movement and getting KAT even easier looks especially off motion that would involve more players which leads to more chances at backdoor cuts.

Yep. Some folks are fans of the team, others are Stans of a particular player. I think Mikal will eventually be fine, but the team comes first. He needs to get his act together.

Perhaps he has a metatarsal rattling around in his esophagus, but whatever it is his concentration is poor, his decision making is weak, he effort on defense is lacking, he avoids contact whenever he can and his overall effort is low.

If he has a physical issue causing all of the above, then he needs to taken in for repairs. But since he is one of the NBA's "iron men" and we don't know of any ailment, the default assumption is going to have to be he is not giving his best effort.

Sims has to be a professional and stay ready. He isn't offensive player so effort should always be at a 10 for him

That would mean 38 mins per game for KAT.

Yeah. He’s not fighting over screens or being physical at the point of contact. He also looks to switch too easily

I sort of agree with Thibs that he should come around, but he can do that coming off the bench too. Playing him like this for half a season to make that decision is too long.

Shame on the league for scheduling a noon game the day after Turkey day! And they wonder why ratings and attendance is down! Imagine if this was the first time you watched an NBA game.

Bridges needs to pick it up soon. We're almost a quarter of the way into the season so no more easing in and finding your role. His effort today was embarrassing highlighted by that turnover.

OG left his infinity rings in Denver. Hasn't hit a 3 since!

Brunson had a nice trip. Made some big shots and made 6/8 fts late.

A win is a win no matter how you get it and we went 3-2 on this trip which you'd always take. We have a ton of work to do and today isn't the game that offers encouragement but they got it done and that should count for something.

Knicks are 10th in assists which is better than teams like Boston, OKC and Mavs.

My point was aside from Towns and Brunson the rest of the starters are too inconsistent with their shooting to be a truly great offensive team right now. They get wide open shots and brick them, it does not have anything to do with how fancy the play they ran was.
