Hart saying the right thing. Teammates all have each other's back and they won the game. It will all be fine. Knicks aren't even playing well and haven't even hit there stride but still winning at a good pace. Once things start clicking we have even more room to be better.

Yeah we're screwed if this is the mentality the locker room has. Talking about we're nitpicking mikal and how he shouldn't face criticism because he's new to the team and is a winner in every situation. Foh. We fked up uniting them villanova boys cause nobody is gonna hold each other accountable.

Maybe but what are they supposed to say. He sucks we screwed up and i want a trade? I mean they have to say these things

He could've just kept it 100 and said Mikal is in a struggle right now and we're going to try to help him figure it out. Instead he went on a whole rant trying to protect Mikal from any criticism and basically said we're being too harsh on him. This is what happens when you put all your buddies on one team and no one wants to hold each other accountable.

Hart says in response to a very softball question that Mikal is playing bad because the media is killing him. He doesn’t even know what it’s like to be booed by the home crowd yet. It’s a long spiral down

Least season the Knicks were considered to be a poor shooting team that got around that by getting offensive rebounds. The changes we made this year was removing DDV for a much worse shooting Mikal, Hart in place of Randle and Towns for Ihart. The only offensive upgrade was Towns. Its not a real 5 out offense if only two players can shoot reliably... Maybe three if you count OG

Gravy wrote:Do we really have the players to be an amazing offensive team unless they are all shooting lights out? Mikal has been terrible, OG is either good or bad, Hart is shaky. Brunson and Towns are the only two that can create for themselves. Its not really a Ferrari offense.

They try to get Bridges and OG going and the offense suffers when they're bricking shots.

OG needs to make quick decisions. If he doesn't have a clear path to drive or isn't wide open on a shot, he needs to pass back out. Same for Mikal. If it's not a corner 3 or mid range, he also suffers. They're both so limited. The Knicks need another playmaker in the rotation. We thought Mikal could be it.

Yep. You have to work the situation behind the scenes, while remaining publicly united. Professionals shouldn’t behave like us fans

We don't know what's being said closed doors. Proper way to handle it is to protect the player from media criticism and let him know you have his back, but privately, let him hear it. Poor leadership is what Philly is doing, throwing each other under the bus and snitching.

Donte and Mikal shoot about the same from the 3 for their careers. They both are shooting terribly this season, so it’s a wash offensively. The idea was to get better defensively, and that’s the part that’s failing.

If we kept Grimes we could have had 7 more picks and 3 less swaps

At this point Mikal is much worse than Grimes and also lets not forget we are near the 2nd apron because of Mikal, Grimes had 1/4 of his salary

Towns / Robinson / Huk / Sims
Achiuwa / Morris / TJ / Dadiet
Anunoby / Hart / McCullar
McBride / Grimes / Shamet
Brunson / Payne / Kolek

Plenty of leaders have called out their own team to the media, to light a fuse in them. Guys like Kobe, Bron, Jordan, etc. with the way we’re playing it doesn’t look like anything is being said behind closed doors.

Deuce was heading for a starting role if the trade for Mikal Fields (BBF of Jeremy Brunson) didnt happen

There was another play they run with Lauri where he starts near the corner and runs an angle screen for the ball handler then slips it and shoots.

All the stuff we do is basic, it's screen for Brunson by KAT and maybe he pops or drives, but it's always at the top of the key.

I mean Towns is having the best season of his career and our offensive rating is second best in the league. Towns is fine(offensively). They get open shots all the time but Mikal OG and Hart were combined 2-12 from three.

Our offense doesn't look good against teams that can switch because it's rudimentary, when it should shred them all the same. The offense could be better with more movement and getting KAT even easier looks especially off motion that would involve more players which leads to more chances at backdoor cuts.

KAT is averaging good scoring numbers but it seems like he is really bleeding for his points. I don’t know it is his teammates fault but a more creative coach should be able to give him at minimum 10 easy points per game.
