Not unexpected, but nice to hear they aren't completely clueless.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Re: Article: Bulls Open To Trading Most Of Roster
They know they have nothing on roster to build around. LOL My guess is they looked at players at roster and with improved pace and no DeRozan, expected some of younger players to step in to fill some key roles. For example Coby, to become top PG starter after last year improvement. But this didnt happen. Or Williams to take next step, but guy is bust and currently being outplayed by rookie in what was projected historic bad draft.
Or Giddey who they aquired to step in bigger role, but guy is containing same glaring weaknesses and playing worse because he is on more terrible roster. It's no suprise.
Front office is simply too late in playing this game. Every move and every action they make are 2 years too late. To be good GM, you need to moves 2 years ahead not opposite. Now it looks like I am ranting, but them just admitting they assembled trash and drafted trash and aquired trash starting with Vuc trade is admitting they are trash at their job.
But it would be nice if social media and network media did another favor to another Chicago team to pull owners on spot to fire incompetent people in their organization. But NFL is serious league while NBA is not. So no much hope there.

Re: Article: Bulls Open To Trading Most Of Roster
Need to do a full firesale like Nets did a few years back. Hope for some draft picks and young players while not taking any bad contracts back.
If this was the goal all along, then this season couldn't have worked out better for the FO. Your large contract players are playing elite ball, your young talent is showing growth, but you're also losing a lot. Couldn't have written that up any better. Get some positive assets for Zach/Vuc. Find some team to absorb Carter/Craig for some future 2nds. Then you let the young guys go out there and compete. Finish the season with the following players: Coby/Ayo/PAW/Matas/Jalen/Terry/Phillips/Sanogo/Lidell plus fillers
That group will compete and lose a lot of games. If it happens, I will be shocked, but thoroughly excited.

Better would be Bulls are exploring options in the FO and in the coaching staff. Everything is on the table.

I bet Zo goes to the Hornets and joins his brother. Wouldn’t even be surprised if it’s a good will move where the Bulls get nothing but… CASH.
Would love to take a flier on Mark Williams who is always injured. Vuc for expirings and Williams.

This talk is getting dumb
If they could trade them they would have. I don't know why some people post as if some good play from a player for a couple months somehow will make some contending team already over the tax with little assets suddenly fork over their prime assets for these guys. And the younger teams are def not trading anything of true value for them. So at this point you will just have to settle for a trade for the sake of making a trade and no deal made will satisfy anyone and most of the fanbase will say how we got robbed in any deal made. The contending teams who could use these guys don't want to go further over the tax to add them the younger teams tanking don't want to add these guys and possibly mess up a better draft position and there is no world we get any 1st rd picks this season. We have to pay attention to the landscape of the league. There is a reason guys like Ben Simmons Brandon Ingram and James harden haven't moved anywhere. Repeater tax penalties has scared every franchise from making significant moves. Look how dead the last deadline was. This deadline is likely to end up the same.

Every time I hear AK talk I come away thinking that he doesn't plan for the future and takes it season by season. That's not a good way to manage a team.

I think he knows that he probably doesn't have enough credit to see a rebuild through. He'd more than likely would get axed as things don't turn around fast enough. He's basically trying to ensure he remains employed, rather than do what's best.

Re: Article: Bulls Open To Trading Most Of Roster
As I feared, Coby has slipped down and is basically non-improved from last year, which was also a deceiving season as I don’t think he improved all that much from the prior season (on the whole). He had very hot stretches (which were MIP caliber for sure, but short lived)… he has improved his handles - more importantly, he’s jacking more 3Ps, which he should’ve been doing since 2021. But at the end of the day, he is arguably the worst starting guard in the entire NBA, unless Giddey is considered a guard.
https://www.espn.com/nba/hollinger/statistics/_/position/pg
Look at that list and be honest. Coby is a 31st ranked PG, and I look at the SG list, and can’t justify him in that top-30 either when you consider defense.
He’s a valuable shooter and good combo guard to fit into a rotation, but I just fear that this organization has no firm plan of what it’s doing. Instead of pumping these guys’ strengths and tanking, this FO and coach are trying to get a bottom-5 talent pool to “play the right way”, when I don’t see a ceiling that takes them out the bottom-10. We are the least talented team in the NBA, and our best players are like bench players or 5th options on good teams. Our prospects aren’t even registering low end rotation numbers.
Defense is very important right now. It’s amazing that Kris Dunn is having more success than our entire guard rotation. I don’t know what they want to trade here, but they need to get creative fast.

Is getting "prime assets" expected by anyone? If so, yes that's not going to happen. But no point debating the likelihood of the impossible. The question is whether their play this year has made them tradeable at all for something that does not limit future flexibility. I'm not sure what more Vuc and Zach can do to rehabilitate their value than what they have done. If its not enough, its not enough but it is sure far more likely than last year when both played like ass and Zach had injury and attitude issues (minor ones, but they garnered national attention) to boot.
Last year we couldn't give them away. One less year on their contracts and vastly improved play should change that to at least some extent.
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

Could AK get a protected 1st in a potential Vucevic deal?
The Bulls send Vucevic, Giddey, and Duarte to the Warriors for Wiggins, Looney, and a lottery protected 2025 first round pick.

Vooch
Craig
LaVine
Giddey (I don’t think he’s re-signed)
Ball (offseason would possibly be better time)
Coby
I’ll keep Coby’s name out of talks this season. When those other guys are moved by the deadline, his numbers will balloon. Offseason would be best to move on from him also. The 2026 draft has an impact player at #1 in AJ Dybantsa.
Loading up on 2nd rounders wouldn’t be a bad thing. The more assets the better.
