Best offer for Anthony Edwards
I am a Wolves fan, this is not a joke thread. I have come to believe he will never reach his true potential. He is not the Steph Curry or MJ in a dynasty. He is at best the Pippen or Durant who is excellent at what he does, but will never win anything as THE guy. I think Ant is poisoning his team and will poison whatever team trades for him. That said, he is insanely talented on offense and when he decides to play defense is quite good as well. I am not looking for discounted jokes or anything of the sort. My personal opinions of Ant do not reflect his actual value to NBA GMs or fanbases. That said I am curious what people would offer?

Gosh, Minnesota fans jumping ship. I don’t think there is even 1% chance of Minny moving Edwards at this moment. So, probability being low low, who would even expend mental energy to explore options. No chance

Did I say I am jumping ship? I think we have best roster in the NBA with a ton of it being young and not even in its prime. I think by replacing our top 2 (Ant and Randle,) with other legit stars we have a solid chance at winning multiple titles. The player I have given up on is Ant. I don’t think he will ever be THE GUY, and I want to acquire someone who will. Any trade that doesn’t begin with a teams best player is moot.

Not even close. You don’t have an Ant trade without a guy like SGA, Wemby, in the conversation. This is a 23 year old Ant under team control for 5 years at really good rate compared to how maxes are gonna start looking. Again this is not a joke or rebuild thread.

Hilarious response.
You trash Ant in your opening post and then demand players in return who have top 5 trade value.
News flash, you aren’t getting anything close to those guys for him. You either ride with him or accept a package based around a couple of younger guys with potential and an assortment of first rounders.

I trash Ant because in my opinion he isn’t as good as others think he is. That said, others keep comparing him to MJ and talk about him being the face of the league. If you don’t think a team offers their top player for him then find another thread to post in. Realistically Ant is not going anywhere for anything less than an equal or overpay of value. The question is what teams would do that and what does it look like?

I'd tack on Cam and Reed just to give them an offer that they likely cannot replicate again if they decide to move Edwards later in the future.

Okay. Sacto would probably be interested. Sabonis + Keegan for Anthony Edwards?? Atlanta would definitely offer Trae Young. Clippers would definitely offer James Harden. I doubt GSW would trade Steph Curry but they’d probably consider it for Ant. Miami would definitely do Jimmy Butler. Toronto would offer Scottie Barnes. Orlando would probably offer either Franz or Banchero. If you want to deal Ant one-for-one to replace him with another star with a better mindset, I don’t know, but those are some names.

This is much closer to the conversation the thread was meant to have. CBA and 2nd apron issues apply and make it crazy complicated. Moreover the Wolves would not sell low, they would be looking for massive value back.
P.S In my original post I said I no longer believe Ant is the Curry or MJ in the dynasty. That doesn’t mean KD and Pippen have low value, especially when they were years away from their prime and playing at All NBA level. I just don’t think Ant will reach his true potential because he is a weak character selfish and low BBIQ player. Maybe the right coach and system can get him there, but he just doesn’t seem to care about winning, only his stats and other people praising him.

I'm doing all the picks and swaps they can trade + those three.
2025 swap, better of PHX and Houston (probably. Can be a pick outright if this is an off-season deal)
2027 Best of Houston, PHX, BKN
2027 swap rights for second best of Houston, PHX, BKN (can be switched to swap rights on the best, not sure what's better but Houston needs a pick this year for stepian)
2028 Houston 1st
2029 best of Houston, Dallas, PHX
2029 swap rights for second best of Houston Dallas PHX
2031 Houston 1st
2031 swap
Plus Reed, Cam and preferably Jalen but if they don't want his contract that's fine.

Re: Best offer for Anthony Edwards
Well I mean if you're just trying to trade him for better/more valuable players then you're not going to be happy with the offers bc I guarantee both those teams laugh you off the phone there and ant is awesomewinforlose wrote:LarsV8 wrote:Jalen Green

Re: Best offer for Anthony Edwards
OP,
You chose to start this thread. Please do not continue to tell those kind enough to participate in your thread how they can respond. You can say you want to trade him only for a franchise player, but what are the odds a team with a legit MVP level player wants to trade him for a guy you are telling us is never going to be that guy? Especially since Minny doesn't really have much in the way of assets to add to that.
Also, no chance Minny has the best roster in the league if Edwards is as you describe. Edwards and Gobert are the only players on the roster that stand out. Without Edwards its worse than those Utah teams built around Gobert and Mitchell which while good teams weren't best roster in the league.
I'm so confused about all of this. But you shouldn't make a thread taking offers and then dismissing those offers. If you only want MVP level guys in return, edit the OP. Instead you claim to be curious what people will offer.

Depends on how you look at it. You might say SGA is better this year than Ant (debatable,) but in the long term who is more valuable? Likewise you might say Wemby is younger and a physical specimen, why would we trade him for Ant? Well, Ant might have a much higher ceiling and moves up your time table. If you think any GM is laughing the Wolves off the phone with a honest Ant is on the table conversation is available then your missing the plot.

Re: Best offer for Anthony Edwards
I think if Minnesota tries to move him, that lowers his value right off the bat. That said, he's one of the guys that might get you in the conversation for a Giannis/Embid type. Welby and SGA are pretty much untouchable, even for Edwards. I don't see him in Philly with their roster, but if Giannis is saying he won't resign in Milwaukee and Edwards indicates he might that could be the starting point for the mythical Giannis deal. (Swap out Middleton for Randle and fill in around edges to make cap work if possible . . . I couldn't make the Giannis part of the cap work out but didn't spend a lot of time on it).

Re: Best offer for Anthony Edwards
If you think SGA isn't good enough return for ANT, I can go ahead and lock this because despite your claims this is a joke thread. SGA is a legit MVP guy. Edwards is not. That isn't a debate.

Green, Sheppard, Whitmore + 6 1sts that contain unprotected swaps in them should fetch any player that's on the market, no exceptions.

Salary makes it an odd match:
Det gets Landale, Tate, JeffGreen, and a pick (what is fair?)for thj - cap space needed if dealing Jalen Green.
Hou gets Ant, Randle, thj
Minnesota gets JalenG, Whitmore, Vleet (technically separate trade for cap rules), picks (see list from other poster).
- Houston may not particularly want Randle but that lineup would be deep
C- Sengun, Adams
Pf - Randle, Eason, Jabari
Sf - Brooks, (combo of thj, Eason and Amen).
Sg - Ant, thj
Pg - Amen, rRShephard
