Not even close.

Dick isn't athletic? Well... I can see how that developed.

Which part of his game looks athletic to you? He moves slow laterally and can't contain a lot of guys 1 on 1. This puts our defense into scramble mode.

His leaping, his never ending movement, he's fast in the open court, deflections, sure gets his feet set quick and has a quick release. I dunno generally everything. He's not an elite athlete from any draft profile is the way it is best stated, but he's not unathletic or terribly slow. And you're exaggerating the defensive issue that you would pretty much give up on a guy starting year 2.

Not expecting Gradey becoming a plus defender, but I think he can be an average defender with better conditioning, overall strength and endurance.

Whomever we draft could really change things up depending on how high the pick is so the answer is truly up in the air.

JaKobe has some nice creation, but is an awful shooter atm.

It's hard to predict because we don't know who we're picking in the draft.

I think Scottie, IQ, and Dick are locks for the long-term starting lineup. Yak will be traded at some point due to his age and poor fit on the roster. RJ will probably get moved to the bench eventually or traded. JaKobe gives me sixth man vibes. Ochai can be a solid starter or bench piece. He's just a rock solid 3+D role player.

People need to stop thinking about ideal lineups this season and focus on developmental lineups.

The starting lineup with everyone healthy is going to be.

Yak (assuming no trade)
Barnes
IQ
RJ (even for value purposes, we can't have him coming off the bench, future trade piece)
Gradey - (for developmental purposes, he can't be coming off the bench)

Bench

Ochai (this is literally as good as he's going to get, future trade piece)
Chomche - could go to starting in the future depending on development and Yak
Mogbo - Good but limited offence atm
JaKobe - Could be starting sometime but needs a big jump in his game to do so
Battle
Shead

The rest don't really matter.

Yak and Ochai are actually the ideal complimentary pieces around BBQ. There aren't enough shots to go around with Gradey in the SL and Ochai's gotten so good at playing his role.

IQ, Ochai, RJ, Scottie, Yak

Dick
Mogbo
Walter
Mitchell
Boucher

Brown
Battle
Kelly
Shead

Carton
Bruno
Temple
Chomche

In that order

IQ
Gradey
Ochai
Scottie
Jak

RJ (30-34 Minutes a night still)
Olynyk
Mogbo
Brown
Walter

Is the ideal set up for what we have right now. But Expect trades and for Kelly and Brown to play very little games with us this season.

Also start Gradey and let him get the chance to develop his defence a bit better guarding the 2nd best wings on the other team. His defensive shortcomings are mostly due to inexperience (and then physical strength). He's sharp mentally and physically quick, with + size at SG. His defence likely improves with experience pretty smoothly.

Also 3 great shooters with Scottie and Jak in the SL/Could go super small ball Scottie 5 lineups with RJ in there. or 4 in 1 out lineup with Scottie or RJ as the 1 out.

Wish Kelly were healthy cause I really wanna see what a big like him would do with a team like this.
