Love Goga.

I don’t think I can handle this guy going back third string. He’s been huge for this team and makes everyone better when he’s on the floor.

Can maybe do some jumbo Moe-WCJ-Isaac-Harris or Jett-AB lineups with Goga starting

Isaac is too slow with the added weight to play much sf now. He gets beaten regularly at the perimeter by no names and has much more problem going over the screen.

NBA is pretty much positionless now. I think it only matters if it's some super small team and there's no obvious person to put him on but he's been guarding guys like Cody Martin and Josh Giddey to Ben Simmons to Embiid to Paul George in the last 7-8 games, all very diff players.

He's not as quick to play against specific guys, but I vehemently disagree that he's getting beat "regularly". Obviously if it's a speed mismatch and he gets switched, they can get the better of him at times.. but sometimes he lets them by only to shadow them and swat it.

Box-score thoughts.

Simple reason for this win: Orlando won (dominated) the FG% battle.

But looking closer, why wasn't the win larger?
The Magic DOMINATED rebounding (+19)
The Magic DOMINATED block differential (+8)

Simple answer: Orlando had 22 TOs.

(reflection: to shoot 7-28 [25%] from distance AND lay 22 TOs whilst having a good road win, that is something)

The Knicks and the Magic were the only teams to hold their respective opponent to below 100 points last night.

I'm glad he gained weight after watching Chet get demolished.

Its official. Its the end of the Magics buddy2x family-love type of team. WCJ is starting beef.

Wasn’t able to watch this game but I just saw the highlights and I was surprised how fast the offense was. The ball moved very well and they made very quick decisions. A lot of cutting actions and lobs. Good job. This game seemed very physical and personal so I wonder what the beef is between them.

No, there are 2 games that will be scheduled during the cup game so we might have more road games before our home-stand start.

Game-1 of this two game series (the cup game). Look: the Magic had to run up the score. But Orlando could reasonably assume that Brooklyn would take offense and play "physical" in game-2.

60 fouls later, yeh this was a chippy game.

It’s accountability. I don’t think it’s a new trait. They have been talking about accountability for 2 seasons at least.

Being able to win reasonably comfortably on the road when you make 22 turnovers, shoot 7/28 from 3 and get a pretty bad whistle is quite impressive. The defense is really special this season. yes, it was ugly and chippy, but that's the type of game top teams win, they find ways to get it done when the shots aren't falling and get calls against them. And it's notable that we dominated defensively with Isaac playing very little due to foul trouble and not being effective in his minutes. KCP continuing to shoot well is nice to see.

Hopefully we have enough left in the tank for the Knicks game.

Hope everyone else enjoyed the holiday season. I did my best too. Can someone explain who this KCP guy is?

I'm really liking Goga starting at C and WCJ just getting plugged in all over the place at 4/5...If Isaac put on that weight that fast, his body could probably happily lose it quickly too if it's not really needed. Maybe his best place is that crazy, switchy, "I'll cover Lillard or Giannis" position. I'll be pissed if WCJ drops back and Goga rots on the bench again.

It will be interesting if "brotherhood" of Paolo + WCJ will be maintained or if WCJ comes off the bench. Mose loves tall lineups, so there is a possibility that we see Moe / Isaac / WCJ / Black / Jett.....

It's very interesting what we are witnessing.

He had 4 fouls in 8 minutes. He never got into the flow.
