The fanbase is at a low point. They hate everyone on the team and connected to the team. It's a sad state of affairs in here. The team us fine and showing the pieces needed to move forward. Enduring an impatient and irrational fanbase is difficult.

It then miraculously worked for a few months, and I thought, maybe I'm wrong, at least it will be a fun ride for a couple years before it sucks really bad. The off-season after that when they had the chance to move guys for value and should have had a full realization that this thing wasn't working, but hung on any way, I started losing hope in these guys.

Three years later, its been nothing but hanging on too long to players, watching their value depreciate, missing the playoffs anyway, targeting the wrong things when they do make trades, and trying to dig their way out of the whole with short term moves, slowly making their situation worse and worse. These guys are completely incompetent, and the fact that it worked for a few months was more of a result of luck than vision.

This team is more fun than last year's team, but the fundamental problem remains that they haven't done anything to position the team to be better long term and aren't good enough short term for that to be an acceptable outcome.

I consider AKME a fantastic grouping and I have no doubt they will come up with something brilliant. They have hit on nearly every signing and trade and we would be in contention if not for bad luck. They continuously net young players with upside. I expect that this year they will trade Vuc for something spicy along with Craig and Carter. The rest may remain. We will add the number 9th overall pick to a solid group of young players including Giddey back on a team friendly 3 year deal.

I like everyone on the team except Pat and up until this season, Vuc.

This isn't even close to my lowest point as a fan. At least we're fun to watch and semi-competitive. As long as I'm enjoying watching the games on a bi-nightly basis I'm mostly ok, even if I'm not necessarily thrilled about the direction for the future.

My lowest point was probably the Egghead days. Even when Rose went down we at least had Noah, Deng, Taj, Nate Rob, etc. playing their hearts out in the playoffs.

The correct answer is last season when AKME kept signaling that they would bring everyone back again this season.

Someone mentioned that Fizer years as a low point. I really disagree with that. Even back then there was hope. There was hope that one of the young guys (Brand, Artest, Fizer, Crawford, Curry, Chandler) would become a franchise level player. There was also hope that we would luck into a great pick in the upcoming lottery. There was also still the belief that Krause was a genius and would figure it out.

Although Matas is intriguing, we don't have a young guy on this roster who feels like he might take a big leap and be a building block. Even a few years ago, we had Lauri and a younger Zach or Butler who was pretty close to being a franchise level piece. We just have a whole lot of nothing now.

I actually do believe Matas has the profile to make the leap to be a core 3 player on a contender. Not a #1 offensive option superstar, but as a multi-dimensional two-way stud who could be really impactful all over the court.

I think he’s the second most physically talented and unique player we’ve drafted since the Dynasty. Not that it’s a murderer’s row of competition, but still. He has a very high ceiling.

The answer is clear. We must replace AKME with doug and duck.

The quality of the shots are my issue with the 3p spam. Boston works for them, just like the Warriors did. The rest of the league is just out there doing cardio and chucking long balls.

Look at this clip I saw on the GB. This is an awful product.

This is the low point because everyone is fed up with ownership. All the old guards of bad ownership have sold, and Jerry looks like he's here for the long run. I can't even watch games cause Jerry was trying to milk to team for more money by creating his own sports network that my Hulu can't access. Even if I could, I will not support Jerry trying to milk the team for more money and I am not paying extra for it, because that rewards his greed.

This isn't my low point as a Bulls fan, this is my exit. I still check this site because I subconsciously click it due to years of habit. Not because I genuinely care anymore. At least when Jordan left you had hope that the Jerry's were right about organization win's championships and you thought they could do it again easily. When Rose tore his acl you thought he'd come back 100%. Now there is no long term hope. I don't even know if AKME is good or not because you know they are gming with their hands tied behind their back cause of Jerry.

Anyway F8)* the Reinsdorfs.

For me this is the lowest point, I have been watching this team since the early 90s, when MJ left the front office let it be known that we were rebuilding through the draft (Baby Bulls) so rough times were expected. After nearly 26 years of rebuilding minus the 3 to 5 competitive seasons with Rose the Bulls have fallen mightly.

The front office's inability to be transparent about the seasonal direction of this team every year is frustrating to an astronomical degree, the fact that the Bulls don't even know when to lose is mind-boggling with really good prospects for this upcoming draft. Things need to change in multiple areas starting at the top for real change to happen, until then Bulls fans will be in a constant state of frustration.

Took this year off from Bulls basketball, I will try again next year. Salute to all of the other Bulls fans whom are sticking out another unfulfilling season of Bulls basketball.

Not even close. This is pure recency bias. Let’s not act like the last 25 years have been inspiring. Honestly, I think the current team has been kind of fun to watch at times, even if ownership and the front office are still frustrating.

Think about it: we struck out on Tim Duncan and Tracy McGrady in free agency and ended up with Ron Mercer. The Tim Floyd and Bill Cartwright coaching eras were total disasters, and then you had the Vinny Del Negro days and his fight with Pax. J-Will’s motorcycle accident set us back years. Eddy Curry had the heart condition that derailed what little hope we had for him, and Eddie Robinson was a complete waste of a roster spot and contract. The Ben Wallace signing was awful, and that contract choked any hope of improvement during that 4-year period.

We had the D. Rose injuries and the constant back and forth about his return. The Three Alphas experiment, which was more of a marketing stunt than actual basketball. Jim Boylen’s ridiculous "punching the clock" era, and Fred Hoiberg being a pushover and mocked by Jimmy Butler. The “Fire GarPax” regime felt like it would last forever, and the hatred for Reinsdorf has only grown over the years.

Look at the winning percentages post-Jordan: .260, .207, .183, .256, .366, .280. Since 2000, the Bulls have the third-fewest cumulative wins in the entire NBA, only ahead of the Nets and Hawks.

At least now there’s some effort to move forward. They finally moved on from GarPax, which felt impossible for years, and the roster has some talent (even if it can’t keep up with the rest of the NBA). The team plays an entertaining style of basketball, and we have Matas to look forward to. If you’re just now realizing that ownership isn’t prioritizing winning championships, that’s on you—that’s been obvious for decades. This isn’t great, but it’s far from rock bottom.

Not even close. But this thread may be my lowest point as a Realgm fan.

It's so sad. I want to make some of you sunny side up eggs, tell you it's going to be OK, and then tell you "now stop your damned whining".

I think people just have a warped view / expectation of sports in general. 30 teams are trying to do the same thing with relatively little difference (salary cap, roster size, draft order rules, etc) in tools. We won 6 titles in 8 years, so we're not "due" for a title for well over another century from now. Because of the nature of this board - REAL "GM" we get focused on roster moves, thinking that that game can be "won" / "fixed", but I kinda disagree. Though I think it's very fun to strategize about possible moves, I still think nba roster management is fundamentally a relatively straightforward management task. I think most execs would do most things somewhat similarly under similar circumstances, yet still have different results. All you have to do is look at what a crapshoot the entire draft has been for decades and how quickly contracts can look bad. So I try to not get too high or too low about the FO. As for ownership, I don't think it's a big problem.

Great take. Just look at the 2023-2024 Cavs and the 2024-2025 Cavs. roster is pretty much the same.

Agreed with this.
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o
