This is a hyperbolic blanket statement with no support, it assumes that if the Magic do not become contenders then it automatically means that Moseley is a "player development" coach who was "unable to make the leap". The real truth involves involves much more nuance.
Are the cup is just a cheap ploy to try to squeeze a bit more viewership out of people, I doubt anyone really cares too much about it, players included.

If it's "have the guys more ready" - sure, I agree in theory. But if the guys can get up for literally every other game the past three weeks EXCEPT the NBA Cup game.. then that's another problem. I'm sure you can be even "too ready" where you're nervous and play out of character.
The reality is.. sometimes teams are just a bad matchups?? Especially when when the #1 offensive rated team in the league is hitting contested and open shots, and we're missing open shots (which isn't new for us). If we can't exploit them on defense, that makes for a long night.

You just answered it, and not only lost, but blown out, not showing up.
My guy you only do that when the team is losing against bad teams and struggling in general. This team after Paolo went down was expected to be at the bottom of the standings. They're currently the 3rd best team in the East and have been rolling.
Losing to an elite team on the road without your best player is to be expected. Given how bad the offense has been even during that stretch I'm not shocked that they got blown out.
Stop it "my guy", I'm not even mad like that. I even agree, yes we're playing better than expected. It's how they folded tonight. After they got hit with a run in the 1st quarter, the game was no longer competitive. Our identity is tough defense, just disappointed in this game on national TV. Leave it at that.

Kid has to play either way to see how he can help us or how he can help other teams how is that solved if he's not playing? My expectations of jett and AB has aways been just to expect flashes and you can check my post history..... Mosely in charge of who plays and who doesn't.... Why isn't JI starting? Why is Cole playing randomly? I call it out when it's warranted, do I blame him for everything? No and you won't be able to to find one post from me to that effect, however he doesn't get off scot free.... That's really all I have to say on the matter, not really interested in the back and forthSOUL wrote:KillMonger wrote:Hold on wait.... Remember mose doesn't deserve any blame at all..... I see your whole "why aren't aren't we drawing plays up for Jett" schpiel doesn't work when he completely **** the bed lol.
Please tell the lineups we should run tonight. Like, actually name it. Because it's so easy to say we have "random lineups" when three rotation guys are out and the other options are Cory Joseph.
If you want us to play guys more, sure? It's an option? With a back to back the next night...
Of course coaches search for a spark when Suggs is 0-7 and TDS is doing nothing, Isaac is off, Moe can't defend, WCJ is useless.. like.. really.. name what we should do.

Again, are these statements actually true? You are really good at making these proclamations without support. Boston was really good for years but they won their first championship with Mazzulla, while Steven's was the team executive.
Mike Malone has been Denver's coach since 2015.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Whelp.... That was not fun. We'll see how we bounce back from this. Can still win the cup .. and hopefully we get to see the Knicks again and give em some payback. Hope we will be a lil healthier by then as well. Goga would have definitely made a difference in this one. We will see!

JI plays off the bench because Moe alone cannot be a primary inside defender. We were struggling WITH both of them tonight, I would hate to see TDS/Moe for extended minutes.
Cole plays because we have to play someone off the bench with AB at the guard slots. We're just not going 8 or 9 deep, especially on a B2B, but we've never been like that as a team. Jett didn't have it today, Cole is struggling, one of them will have to be consistent at some point. Even AB is meh right now.
You still don't have to agree with it, but I'm giving you reasons why it happens.

Suggs just not really comfortable in this new role, at the SG he had less on his plate played more free imo.. Paolo back should take quite a bit more pressure off but.... Who knows

Weltman should be the one getting heat... not Mosley. It's not Mosley's fault the team shot 9-39 from deep. A LOT of those shots were open too.

It's a minor critique for Mosley because the team looked unprepared and the game plan was inept. Not sure why people are so defensive.thelead wrote:Weltman should be the one getting heat... not Mosley. It's not Mosley's fault the team shot 9-39 from deep. A LOT of those shots were open too.

He turned it last night against the Nets. Was hobbling and asked to come out before staying in the final 3 minutes.

I said on the very first page this has the potential to be one of those I told you so game. And that's it exactly what it was lol. Now they play Philly twice have to win at least one to go the 3-2 I was thinking they would go on these 5.
At least we play the bucks in the first game of the cup so we don't have to see the Knicks again right away. What a stinker that game was I couldn't take it anymore and just stopped watching. I had seen this show before.

We just kept launching 3s after 3s when it was obvious they weren’t dropping. Heck started the game just launching 3 after 3 with no thought of doing anything else. Just an awful mindset and awful night in general, hope we can redeem ourselves next game in Philly.
