I kinda touched on it but I really don't mind the Cavs busting their ass trying to win every game like you can win a championship in the RS. If they are leading the East so early in the season, fine imo. Once they poop out a bit and the C's overtake them in the standings, the meltdown from Cavs fans will be fun.

The only way for Cavs to win the group is if they win today, and we lose today, and they win again on Tuesday. I don't want to lose today so let's not and then the Cavs don't win the group.
Ah, good point, thanks.

Cavs shooting under 35% from the field and under 20% from 3. But only down 3. Too many turnovers by Hawks and giving up offensive boards.

Cavs can't even score 50 in a half. More like juggerNOT, amirite?

They hit four straight threes after this post. I HATE MYSELF.

The one game I want the Cavs to win and they suck.

The Celtics lost B2B games to the Hawks last season and went on to win the championship. A loss here by the Cavs bodes well for their title chances. Down 12 with 18 mins of gametime left.

Well... if the Hawks hold on and win this, and we beat the Bulls, the Hawks clinch the group.

Let's wild card our way to a side mission title (not that I care). Just your garden variety Emirates Cup Cinderella Underdog story.

Added bonus: Cavs offensive rating about to drop hard after this game. If the Celtics score 300 pts vs. the Bulls, we can overtake them.

Just so lame by the Cavs. I believed you were the real deal! Got punched in the mouth by Trae and co. and they have nothing in response?

The cavs need to come down to earth. Really good team but no way should they have the record they have. They should have at least 2-3 more losses.

LOL Cavs looking so small and soft suddenly. I'm loving this drubbing way too much. Come on, Hawks, hold on to that lead.

Celebrated too early. Hawks relaxed and Cavs not folding. Lead down to 12. Lots of time left.

Cavs waving the white flag. Cs should win by 70+ over the Bulls.

Celtics clipped the Cavs' wings. They turned into a .500 team after losing to the Cs. Unfortunate.

It would be shocking but the Celtics managed it last season.
I'm mildly leaning toward Atlanta winning. Adding one extra and meaningless game to the schedule is a negative, should the Celtics advance to the tournament finals.
On the other hand, winning is fun-adjacent, and seeing that Kornet took less money to re-sign with Boston, him getting a tournament winner's share would be nice.
Color me shocked, lol.

Here's what resulted from not getting in the NBA Cup playoffs:
* Contests against Washington and Detroit instead of Orlando and New York or Milwaukee in the first two games.
* Four days off and lots of rest for Horford, Porzingis, Holiday and all the other players.
* Not playing a meaningless extra game.
* Two less flights.
* At least one less overbright floor.
* Not having to hang the NBA Cup Banner of Lesser Achievement somewhere if they did win.
Advancing would have been good too, but this doesn't seem like a list of penalties, does it?

Let's try to win the Cup when the Jays retire and the Cs are a lottery team.

yeah, this all worked out fine. They *should* have won that ATL game -- oh well -- but we are hunting bigger game and dates against the Pistons and Wiz, with more rest, and also not having to hear Drew Carter + Co try to work themselves into a lather about Teh Cup anymore? Sure.
