It's like Scottie's BBIQ and body are just several steps ahead of his skillset right now. The vision is there, his handle and jumper are still so clunky

It's just going to take reps, however there are signs heading to the right direction.

I actually think his jumper is very promising considering the mechanics and the way he rises over defenders with confidence.

Definitely not, apart from the superficial sense of stuffing the box score.

Great game from Scottie, though. Little but of everything and crushed it inside. Indy, charitably, isn't a challenging defense (5th-worst in the league) but Scottie stepped on them really nicely. Great to see. Good confidence-builder, too.

scottie's offensive game isn't visually appealing which is probably why he wont get as much hype as others.

Quickley or not, his scoring average should not go lower than this 22ppg

53.1% TS before last game, 55.4% after, heh.

68.0%, 59.9% and 74.4% over his past 3 games.

Edit: 8/20 from 3. 14/19 at the line. 8.7 rpg, 9.3 apg. 27.3 ppg. 1 triple double.

The team is 4-3 since his return and he looks ready to take another step, this time with how he commands the floor on offence and as a leader.

Night and day difference when RJ & Dick were the two best players on the court vs. now. That was with Dick playing well, too, so no shade on him.

Scottie has genuine star impact.

Of course he's useful. Barnes' problem has never been one of absent contribution, it's been examination of ceiling. Between his passing, rebounding and defense, he was always contributing something...

What are you fishing for here?

Yes, at 68% TS, Scottie looks very different, but he wont maintain that. So we will have to see what happens as he goes through the usual ebb and flow. Certainly a nice little run, and promising for his future development if he can keep building on it. Doesnt really change any of my reservations about him because it's 3 games, but it is definitely nice to see.

I'm making fun of your criminally underrating of Scottie, but is in good nature.

I think you misunderstand my position on Scottie, in all honesty. I think well of him. I dont think he has "title/superstar-level" scoring in him, but his breadth of contribution I have always appreciated. I think he is a good player and I am happy to have him as a Raptor.

Scottie is the Rodney Dangerfield of the NBA.

Guy has areas to improve no question, but his impact on the game is criminally underrated.

Scottie is the orchestra conductor. He's going to direct the pieces. Masai needs to build the orchestra, which likely includes a play finisher at the end of games.

When Scottie plays this aggressive offensively, you see his true potential. You also see just how much more talented he is than anyone else on the team. He looks superstar level. I love what RJ is bringing to the team, but you can see that the gap between them as players is significant. That's no slight on RJ........just more of a testament to how good Scottie "could" become.

I think it comes back to who is defending him.

Scottie knew he could easily muscle Siakam over and over again. But when he loses that ability, he shrinks. He still largely relies on that.
