Definitely. Just noting after Hart how often he goes 3 guard. But he even did that with IQ, RJ etc

Imo we are playing 4 guards. Mikal Hart and OG are guard wing hybrids but they could all play the 2

I like the bench when he goes Deuce, Payne, Hart, Bridges, Towns

God it feels so good watching a 2 way demon instead of a chucking wing with zero defense!

I definitely noticed a lot of their threes were wide open and I was holding my breath when every shot went up, but they just kept clanking.

Orlando is a terrible three-point shooting team.

I definitely want to see the coach make some adjustments to how we defend the 3 ball, because our path to the finals includes teams that will quickly light you up if you don't lock down the arc.

We won't get away with this vs the Celtics I'll tell you that. But he had them sagging in paint hard last night based on their lack of 3 ball. Mitch (and Achiuwa to a lesser extent) will help with this too as it will allow us to sag less in paint with such a good rim protector out thete.

Knicks are 7-2 at home. Nice having a team that looks so comfortable at the Garden, many of these other teams we had were shook when they played here. Makes getting home court as much as we can important for the playoffs too.

I think KAT and Brunson will still be the lead dogs followed by OG and Bridges. Hart will be the do it all and fill in when necessary guy. However the scoring variances will not be drastic as it has been in years past.

Brunson 23-27pts a game
KAT 21-25pts a game
OG 16-20 pts a game
Bridges 16-20 pts a game
Hart 12-16pts a game
McBride 11-15 pts a game as the primary bench scorer
Payne 9-13pts a game

That's 108-136 point swing from our 7 main scorers. Anything we get from Precious/Mitch/Sims is gravy. Tighten up the defense and we will be unstoppable!

Defense still needs some tweaking for sure but it is definitely tighter than early season. Continue to learn the system and gel over next 3 games and then even the 1st game in the cup tourney should not be a super tough one vs Atl.

He's playing very well now though himself. Good percentages, good defense I believe I saw as well.

But yes OG better and a better fit for this team.

Yeah. We had this the last couple of seasons now. Playing at home really ups our level of play. Having so many road crowds where it seems like a home game has been awesome too. The base is energized after dragging ourselves through decades of the WORST basketball in the league. We deserve this and more!

Nah he’s putting up empty stats and playing zero defense. Raptors fans want him traded for expirings  it’s nice to see us sensible knicks fans be right about him while he destroys another franchise. Good riddance.

Hart averaging 9rebs and 6apg is a lot of heavy lifting too.

Randle and RJ are more inefficient volume scorers.

KAT totally transformed the offense....and the defense is finally recalibrating to compensate for rim protection .

Hart is loving the unclogged lanes to the basket. Formally clogged up by Randle and/or Mitch and driving to the rim at will. He just so happens to be one of the best finishers at the rim in the entire NBA

I feel like this is Karl Anthony Towns being truly free under Thibs to be HIMSELF and not fit into a role that doesn't maximize his talent. He's an all star talent and more.

No disrespect to the Wolves but I never liked how Ant talked about Karl as if he was some punk kid. Nah man. This is the real Karl we're seeing in a high quality locker room

Morning thoughts

1. Statement win against the top defense in the league. Proved our offense is championship level. Magic have the so-called best defense and we exposed them!

2. Defense has been a lot better. Still little lapses here and there but overall the effort and energy have been good especially at the start of games.

3. Nobody can ever question KAT's toughness or call him soft anymore. Dude is a beast! Mo Wagner doesn't want that smoke.

4. OG finally snapped out of his shooting slump. Missed like 16 3s in a row but hit 4/7 last night.

5. Mikal with a back to back strong games. We are at another level when he plays like that at both ends.

6. Hart with a triple double. Shocked to learn he leads the league in shooting inside the 3pt line. Those leaders are usually reserved for Centers like Mitch and Capela who only dunk but Hart leads it at 6'4". He is an elite finisher!

7. Brunson's quick 8 points in the 3rd sealed this game. Gave Orlando no chance at a run.

8. Deuce, Payne and Sims off the bench have been really good. All do their jobs and bring energy and change of pace.

9. Thibs is doing such a great job! 13-8 (I had us at 14-7 so 1 game off) thus far and already established the best offense in the league. These guys play with no ego and just super unselfish basketball. Another game with 30 assists! I lost count of how many that is so far. Next stop is definitely the defense to that level but I like where we are trending.

10. I want that cup! It's about respect! Can't let that balding guano lookalike Trae Young to come into the Garden and eliminate us!
