Defensive front 7 and OL look like the strength of this class. Hopefully, we see a return to Wisconsin physical football

We may have an incoming freshman that conceived at about age 14 if I’m reading this correctly…respect.

Could be a little brother.

Trech into the Portal
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

This is vague, but I recall seeing one of the scholarship grid guys on twitter basically note, "Trech is on here for now" a few days ago...as if this was expected to happen. I'll try to find the tweet but it must've been known.

We might not know yet who the new OC will be but reading the tea leaves a bit suggests the Slot WR will be used less. I'm not sure it's an accident that Cam Miller decomitted & Trech entered the Portal within 24 hours of each other, both slot WR guys and seemingly the only two players of note on offense to leave

Go Go is run heavy and deep shots. Not much slot action to my knowledge. Again, just reading tea leaves.

Also - we had built the entire plane out of slot WRs. Trech, Pauling, Anthony...

We've had this problem since the end of the Chryst era - not an elite running game, an immobile QB (Mordecai/TVDmay have changed things), and mostly tiny WRs. No TEs (injuries were the cause at the end of Chryst). It felt so hard to score in the redzone against good teams.

Not the Weber was a huge recruiting win or even a size fit, but damn that room is getting thin (literally and figuratively). I was really hoping JTJ would stick around this year and show out. He was a huge loss last year.

I can't tell what's going on right now...

Over the next few months we're either going to find out that the staff miscalculated everything and we're going to be running a line full of D2 transfers out there with no secondary depth and win 3 games next year or there is going to be a bunch of money spent on patching things to bridge the gap to some of the younger talent taking over in 2 years.

I'm generally optimistic and trusting that they are doing this for the better - but I guess there's a nonzero chance that they **** it up.

That 2023 class is a real mess.

I guess it’s not shocking given it was cobbled together by a coach who had completely given up on recruiting, an interim coach trying to get his bearings and hold everything together, and a third coach who was around for about 1-2 weeks (?) before early signing day.

Has Howard eaten his way out of rotation or what? I remember having moderately high hopes that he’d be a contributor, especially with how thin our DL is.

Know nothing about him, but apparently a power run scheme.

Was a Broyles Award finalist in 2020 & 2021 at BYU & Baylor respectively. Although seems like he got fired from Baylor after 2023. Seems like his background is in the power run game
