Probably not a smart idea since Maxi's contract is going to be used in a potential trade for a better PF. Other than Maxi, Mavs have almost no one they can use in that midd level deal.

Maxi might be bad, but you still cant trade him without a big coming back. You lose too much size trying to play Naji at PF

We're not better without Luka but we were playing better as a team without him. To his credit, he did come back and for the most part not disturb the team chemistry that was built when he was out. Luka is going to have to learn the same thing the late Kobe Bryant had to learn about dominating the ball...it hurts the overall chemistry when he does that. Luka is different than Kobe but the effect is similar when Luka slows down the ball 94 feet, takes those 1-shot possessions (multiple times in a row / only one touching the ball) and slows down the game unnecessarily to fight a guy to bring the ball down when other guys can get it down faster with less pressure and get the ball right back to him. Also when he runs to the ball every play (guys become too passive) and the reality is, Luka holds the ball like James Harden..not like a traditional point guard...I think our team is way more dynamic when PJ, Kyrie, and Luka are playing aggressive...and when the ball is hopping and guys are touching paint from all angles...thats what was seen when Luka was out and this should continue if we're going to be successful in the long run. All of the turnovers last game were caused by guys trying to adjust their games because Luka was back. I think Kidd has to make it clear who are ball handlers/play makers are. I ve said it all year, Kyrie, Luka, and PJ are the 3 starters who should grab a rebound and shouldn't defer. Look for early transition, scoring opportunities, or set it back up. What we do not need is guys playing tentative around Luka because he's asking for the ball every play. He needs to let others play their games and know how to pick his spots as the main guy.

Hmm..not sure I agree with that. A lot of teams are playing small today...Most PF's are 6'7-6'9. Plus, Maxi doesnt give you much. He's barely an NBA player these days when you consider his injuries, lack of lateral quickness, and inconsistent shot. If anything, I would take an undersized DFS over him anyday - for the defense alone.
