I started to feel bad for Deuce and then I remembered that 17+ million is a **** ton of money.

I can't help myself in these situations. It's one of the few things I actually still care about in this cold world. Workers should be compensated for their work. He is vastly underpaid for his contributions to his business. Yes, he is vastly overpaid in comparison to me and the majority of Americans but in his line of work he is getting robbed. And I hate that for him. But I also admire him because when I'm treated unfairly at work. I pack it up.

Imo we are playing 4 guards. Mikal Hart and OG are guard wing hybrids but they could all play the 2

Payne has been fantastic too. This team plays hard for Thibs there is no question about that.

Payne's defensive aggression has been eye opening.

With Deuce, Payne, Mitch and Precious in the rotation, the 2nd unit should be able to hold leads without issue.

Getting the team healthy has been an issue from the very first game without Precious.. It got worse when Cam went down. Then again when Deuce went down. We have yet to see the full team yet and we are only going to get better as we go. We have been getting better already just getting Deuce back. We are for real a title contending team right now! Just need to put in the work and stay healthy for the playoffs.

If we can continue a half decent level of D when KAT is at 5, he will not need to play much at the 4 (Maybe 25-30 at the 5 with maybe 5 at the 4). The other 18-23 minutes will be Mitch at the 5.

My gut says we don't keep him for the duration of his contract for that reason. He's already outgrowing his supersub role. At a certain point it will just be courtesy to him to get him somewhere where he can play more for that next contract which could easily be near 100 mil. But he'll help us contend for a few years and he seems to want that.

Plus, I don't think we'll be able to afford his next deal.

We had a limited window to assemble the roster and fit everything in cap wise. The way they fit everything in is pretty incredible. No regrets at all to watch this beautiful display of basketball

what your confidence meter on Mikal right now?

I don't know if he made a tweak with his shot but he isn't consistently missing short anymore. Has hit a few ATB 3's as well.

I need to see him make more above the break threes and regain some confidence taking them off a live dribble so we can see him run some PnR with KAT as well. But I like the aggressiveness, he's a better scorer than OG so he should naturally be our actual 3rd option, OG should not be established as the 3rd guy, he's just too much of an opportunistic scorer for that to be sustainable.

Ok. I agree. I have said as much myself. If Mitch is getting 20-24mpg he will see some next to KAT. It's unavoidable. I suppose it will be situational depending on how effective it is. Precious will be the backup 4 next to KAT for a few minutes as well. Same scenario.

It's going to be hard for Thibs to not use a 10 man rotation if we are fully healthy. We are stacked everywhere. We are balanced everywhere. We can go all offense or all defense lineups. We can mix and match all five positions on both sides of the ball when fully healthy. It's insane how scary we can be when it all comes together. We are going to be a problem for everyone!!

Completely agree. With the cba and our stars we can't afford to pay him his worth. So we will move him to bring in some young cheap assets to keep the bench tight.

This FO is savvy as hell. Which is really refreshing considering the sht we've been through.

It's also why I don't see us resigning Payne. He'll prolly price himself out here and we will just sign another vet on the min.

The cool thing about this is we have such high end top talent that makes life easier for role players. It allows them to be at their best. That's what truly great stars do. They elevate their teammates not just themselves. We are in a great great place right now. Feels surreal that this is the Knicks.

You take Steph and Jokic over him very clearly, and even though he might not be a better fit for this team, Giannis also goes ahead, too.

But after that? There's a valid argument/probable for Brown, but it's not definitive at this point. Towns is clearly ahead of Booker with what we've seen so far this season, and then...
