I think what we might miss sometimes with thibs is the things that aren't quantifiable. Like the players, a jHart for example, are willing to run through a brick wall for him. He is the kinda guy that every other player on the outside on hates, and wouldn't want to play for, but his guys love him.

But got dayum those mins are concerning as hell.

The 8 man rotation is really nuts. I’m with all you in that but it’s pretty obvious to me that Thibs has really adapted in the past 2 years. He’s absolutely willing to try stuff as long as it works or thinks it will. So as long as the guys buy in I’m totally on board too.

mazulla runs 7 and no one says a word about it.
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

They really can be. Do you think Goga goes back to the bench when Paolo gets back?

Nuke those Sixers tonight, por favor :D

I hope not, but that has been Mosley's MO so I expect he will.

I think people are forgetting something about the Deuce timeline...even into the beginning of last season he wasn't shooting the 3ball all that well. In his first two season he had some good stretches but that was the rarity over the first two, in the mins he got his shot was pretty erratic.

By the third year he started to shine but it wasn't until the end of the year and beginning of the new year that his shot was falling consistently in games. I don't know what was happening in practice but the FO saw enough that they were ok with moving on from first IQ and then Grimes to let him be the bench shooter/defender.

I was one of those that was touting him during his draft thinking his shooting and defense would translate to the NBA even if he wasn't a true PG type. I thought a bench guard that shoots and defends the point of attack was his ceiling. That's exactly what he is but he's excelled in that role maybe even more so than I could have hoped for.

His contract? Well, yea, I feel for the guy so get him some endorsement dollars because I want him to want to stay in NY. He's marketable because fans love him, his agent better do their job better or it's a shame. Sure he's a high impact player but he still has limitations because of size so supersub seems just about right for him.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

You don't trade first round picks for a player you cannot retain, we simply cannot afford him if we traded for him. Mikal has an extension coming up soon, and Jalen isn't going to be taking another discount.

He's not a realistic trade target, he was before we had KAT, he's not realistic now. What do you think happens when he's a RFA and we're a apron team? A team will make an offer we can't match and that's that, we lost a player that we traded our last picks for.

It may impact the full package of what we would give up overall. But two years for a player that could be key as a final piece to a championship run is worth it

We're better off just keeping Mitch if the other option is to trade multiple picks for a backup. At the end of the day, he would be KAT's backup.

Kessler nor Poeltl make any sense for this team, trading for a starting center to be a backup when there's an all-star MVP caliber center already on the team, with 3 backups makes no sense.

We will agree to disagree then.

On the season the Celtics, down a starter in KP, have 9 guys who average at least 15 minutes per game, including a bench guy (Pritchard) who averages more minutes than a starter (Horford).

Even just their last game, they had 10 guys who logged at least 10 minutes.

Credit to Brunson for adjusting his game with the arrival of Towns and the departure of Randle, which left a significant playmaking vacuum.

He started the season looking for his shot too much, and not looking for Towns enough. Then he seemed at times somewhat hesitant and not as sharp a scorer as last year, though it was never nearly as bad as some made it out to be. But it seems he's found the right balance with the new personnel around him in the last couple weeks.

1 additional assist per game and 3.6 (!) fewer FGAs a game compared to last season is a significant change and sacrifice for a player of his caliber.

It's a subtle but really strong display of leadership.

What a player he's become.
