Makes it harder for opposing defenses to stack their defense against Trae...

Almost 30 assists per game and most of the points at the rim or the 3 and the Hawks are doing it very well now

Seeing more of this with JJ and Hunt as the ball handler with Trae as the screener. Love it!

56.5 is our current average.

Last three games 64.7

Overall Ranking / Last Three Game Averages
1. Memphis 61.3
2. Toronto 62
3. Atlanta 64.7

I believe we have two games with 70 or more points in the paint so that's very impressive.

I suspect these numbers will invert in the postseason. Most of these dudes aren't ready for the level of intensity of pressure they'll face in the playoffs.

Hopefully Trae is relatively healthy and spry by then!!

Looking much better on defense of late; offense still struggling.

Trae seems fine to me.

All of those guys seem to have the mentality to succeed in the postseason. We're seeing the grit they have now on this winning streak.

IDK, man.

Zacc, Jalen and Dyson have a combined 0 starts in postseason play.

Starting a playoff game in Boston or Miami is a very different beast than anything they have faced thus far.

What's been the precursor to these Offensive Boards?

Bad boxing out by the opponent?
Or Hawks big men crashing the offensive glass?

How Jalen and Trae are co-piloting the Hawks’ new-look offense

Snyder is in his third season at the helm of the Hawks...But this is the first in which it feels like something actually changed with his team. Johnson’s development into Young’s offensive co-pilot also was born of necessity a bit, and we’ll talk more about that in a minute. But first, the big picture: After two seasons of watching Young and Dejounte Murray play your-turn, my-turn with the offense — while nobody took turns on defense — Hawks games look very different this year. Atlanta (18-15) is in the midst of perhaps its most enjoyable stretch of basketball since the 2021 run to the Eastern Conference finals, having won four straight and 11 of 15.

The proof of concept for Atlanta’s change was the Hawks’ 50-point fourth-quarter eruption Dec. 26 against the Chicago Bulls, the first time in three decades a team dropped 50 in the fourth. And the biggest basket came on a play where Johnson was the ballhandler and Young the screener, setting up another Capela lob dunk.

You might have thought trading Murray for ball-thieving defensive ace Dyson Daniels would have made the Hawks a deeply heliocentric team around Young, especially as the next most frequent possession user from last season, Bogdan Bogdanović, has been hurt most of the year and ineffective when he does play.

Instead, the opposite has happened. Young, Johnson and ace sixth man De’Andre Hunter have operated more as an ensemble cast, riffing off one another and magnifying their strengths — a previously foreign concept in the Murray-Young backcourt.

I do miss the days when we had a big capable of screening for the ballhandler at the 3-pt line and then rolling hard to the rim for an easy dunk.
