worst NET rating in the 4th qtr...that needs to be addressed.

Thibs is a fine coach. You or I could coach a good offensive team that was led by two generational offensive talents like JB and KAT.

No we couldn’t but this is what Knicks fans really think though. We could all be great coaches

A lot of games haven’t been competitive by the end. We lost the 4th quarter to the Magic 31-15 but what did that really mean for us at the end of the day? So I don’t put much stock in that

I actually think it’s pretty hard. Look at the Cavs. Same personnel but Atkinson (who I liked) has them at a different level. It also requires some level of leadership and soft skills, too. Some of these coaches, like Doc, they’re not that great but they can get guys to sacrifice, which is important and hard as hell with stars.

I think Thibs and the FO are pretty good at working together in terms of designing the offense and finding the right guys. A few years ago, our personnel wasn’t as good so we were able to cobble together an offense based on offensive rebounding. That was impressive, I thought. The evolution is nice to see. Hell, even Thibs committing to KAT at C is weird (and him and KAT overcoming their drama too)…it really goes against his nature.

There’s still room to grow, of course, but good signs overall I think. Season is long though, and we’re aiming for a ring so we can’t make final judgments yet.

When the Warriors, Raptors, Cavs etc where a the top we needed to get Kerr, Nurse and Kenny. Now that we are at the top its only because of the players. Maybe 2 posters even wanted Towns here, now he was always this great and the team was always going to look this good. Time to give Thibs his credit!

A lot of us can, but you’ve even done that to me before. That’s your m.o…. Callin people out like that when you know you’re not perfect either. Like if it comes up organically in a convo ok, but you just run to the podium and start putting people on blast first chance you get.

I like that the players respect thibs and he is very prepared for games. But saying our #1 ranked offense is due to him is wild talk. Its because of Brunson and KAT duo.

They were both playing here earlier in the season when people were saying the offense sucks because of Thibs :meditate:

Basically if we struggle it’s all Thibs and if we are the #1 offense it’s nothing to do with him and anybody cold have done this. There is no room for him to receive credit in the Knicks fandom

When did anyone say that. Our offense was always good it was always going to take a little time for the players to adjust.

I don't really get on thibs for the offense because generally I don't think he is moving the needle much on that end. It's more on brunson making th adjustment to be more of a facilitator that moved us from a good offense to top offense in the league.

I'm more focused on things impact on our defense which is clearly can be more impacted by scheme and such.

Gotta get fat on W's this month... improve our defense to get it closer to top 10... and maybe sneak a Cup chip in there. Won't be easy.

They'd be averaging 131.5 with Jay Wright.

Thibs is great coach. The slander around here has been insane. He loves the kids. He's great at minutes distribution. His in game adjustments are the stuff legends are made of. He knows how to keep his team ready for the playoffs. It's not even debatable at how great his is at coaching.

That probably won't help the offensive rating.

Probably will improve the defensive rating and hopefully we stay up top offensively.

Try to get into top 5 of NET rating.

You figure the 2nd unit with Deuce/Payne/Precious/Mitch will be able to keep and increase a lead.

Good things ahead. Just gotta keep everyone healthy.

No love for Leon?

He dumped Randle and brought in the ultimate floor spacing, aggressive rebounding, amazing passing, historically great shooting center... putting together a consensus championship level roster.

Everyone has had their eyes on the Knicks since the KAT and Mikal trade.... Expectations are sky high.

Leon did his part.... it's time for Thibs to deliver the goods. Finals or bust.

Well I feel that a lot of people didn’t think he had it in him to run this kind of offense or not play a rim protector, which is somewhat understandable. Many still think Mitch is coming back to start and that would put a quick end to it. So I guess we will see

Just so everyone can see...this was a simple 1 on 1 ISO with Brunson...but look at the defenders.

Our OFF is #1 because of the starting 5 and what Brunson can do and the attention Towns and our wings have in the ability to shoot the ball.

Not one help defender foot in the paint.

I don’t watch this team and think “wow Thibs’ offense is amazing, best in the league, great X’s and O’s guy.” It’s not even identifiable like the triangle or SSOL.

Outside of letting these elite offensive players call the shots, I dunno what he’s really responsible for. They don’t play like a cohesive unit either or run a lot of plays.

We’re always waiting to shoot with 1-2 seconds left on the clock… I hear “three!” “three!” (seconds left) 100 times per game coming from the bench… not the makings of an elite offensive system.
