If OKC would only offer their own picks, then I would say no, unless they give Chet because this team would be so good for at least 5 years so those picks would be at the bottom 3-4 in the first round. But I really like Wiggins and Joe though...
I like Matas Buzelis from the Bulls.

BTW.....OK would still have Phi (protected 1-6) and Utah's (protected 1- 14) first round picks in 2025. They have 4 effin first round picks coming to them!!! 3 first round picks in 27. 2 picks in 28. and 2 picks in 29. And that doesn't even count the 10 or so extra 2nd-rounders they have coming to them in that period.

Your looking at a team poised to make the finals this year, possibly, with 4 #1 picks in their chamber for 2025 draft....one can be a swap, no less! I mean come on!!!

Why are we just circling the toilet year after year??!!! And people wanna keep doing this till Lebron retires cause "You don't trade a player as good as AD" ?? Makes no sense. This rebuild doesn't have to take a decade. OKC just proved it!

Every day we wait though.....more miles on AD. Less value. More chance for injury. We've been fools to wait this long.

I hear it.....but we're not all masters of our destiny. AD is gonna command what AD is worth. And while he's on top now, the question becomes "how much longer" ? He'll be 32 next offseason.

Other teams have the internet too. They'll know about AD's injury history. His "lingering foot issue". A big man turning 32 prob doesn't have a ton left in him. Can you guarantee 2 years? 3? 4? How many picks and "good rising players" are you really willing to part with?

I like OKC because they have sooooo much house money to play with here. They also had a team for a decade that couldn't quite make it to the top. They are a team that I think would be willing to go a little heavy just to stack the odds...and finally get a title. If I'm OKC, I look at AD and I think that we should be able to get 2 titles in 3 years with him. That's some serious value....but hell....they might win the title as is...and with 4 freakin picks next year to boot!

So we can't just play "I want this guy, and that guy, and that guy" (even though I just did, admittedly 2 posts up).

What we'd prob get for AD is salary coming back....hopefully a couple decent young players in there...and 2 picks. Would be my guess. Surely they have someone on their squad not pulling their weight, financially....and a couple guys who look good, but are behind better players in the pecking order.

If we could then move DLo's expiring to a team that's desperate to clear salary for their 3-year stinker contract, and get a pick back for that. If Lebron could be swayed to goto GSW....maybe a pick there. I mean, our options aren't so great. We really shoulda done this a couple offseasons ago. But whatever we get....it will help, and it's better than slowly circling the drain like we are now.

If I am in charge of LAL I call the Bulls and see what Lavine's price is today. I call BK and ask about DFS, Schroder, and CamJo. I circle back to MIN with a feeler call and see if LAL departs with AD and a pick or two would Ant-man be available (likely not). But, I would make those calls today and then come back to see what you could work with.

Then, if DFS plus Schroder is 1 1st and Lavine is a 1st, solid player not named AD, and 2 2nds I would see if the team leftover could contend. If not, I do not make the deals unless you can get Ball on the cheap if he is not going to be a Hornet.

I think this makes the most sense. CamJo, Cam Thomas, Anthony Edwards, Jimmy Butler, Zion, etc. are likely too expensive or not worth it today due to the immediate needs of LAL.

I am confused why Lonzo's name kept popping up when the guy has only played 6 out of 23 possible games this season. His last game, he played he had 5 pts/2 assists in 13 mins,
the game before that, scored 2pts at 25FG%.

I think it would be to get him on the cheap in hopes that he can return to 85% of his peak by the playoffs which is possible. The other reason is that you can likely get him for pennies on the dollar as opposed to other players.

Like I said, I just don't like OKC's own picks (probably bottom 5 the next 5 years) esp if they have waay more than that to offer.
I don't expect them to offer Chet and bec salaries had to match, I don't mind getting Hartenstein and Dort for 3 years, hopefully either Joe and/or Wiggins.
Their GM Sam Presti is so sleek and cunning. I can't believe he was able to get a very good defender and good enough shooter (career 37% from 3) for a player who was a liability on their playoff run with NO PICKS attached.

Last time I checked you can't just trade a player JUST for pics, If you trade a player to a team, salary matching has to work, could be wrong but last time I checked you have to do salary matching and then pics? Correct me If I'm wrong. That's at least what I thought

1) don't tell someone to stay off the sauce when they're drinking, they'll just keep on drinking Luckily for me didn't see this post till now, morning. I know when to stop as I don't go overboard.

2) I've said this trade b4 many times, but also said many times b4 that Utah want 2 pics for Kessler even by himself.

Kessler by himself Is not worth 2 pics ... But If you Include Sexton then DLO as you said Is leaving anyway, you get something back for him.

DLO/JHS 2 pics for Kessler/Sexton gets the job done but I think Utah also want an extra spot so they can have an open roster spot so you throw In someone like Lewis, who Lakers never play anyway -can't remember who said that?

Get a solid bigman for the next 10 + years who replace Zubac to which who we all miss and love.
Get a solid PG/SG who Is at least consistent with his production for what his worth $18mil.

Are they going to win you a championship? who knows? But It's a solid starting block to build around.

And you can still go get Richards for Hayes 2 2nd's

The only reason why Lonzo is trying to play a couple of games is because his contract is expiring and he's hoping there's a sucker GM there would bite...maybe if he can play for the Heat for a few games, then Rob would sign him.
I guess I was traumatized when I spent hard earned money to watch him play for the Lakers then boom, he was out for a bum shoulder or something.
