Absolutely insane that thibs morphed this beach volleyball player into a decent nba player. Sims mins haven't killed us.

Gotta give him a little respect. Only took him 4 years to learn how to play a sport he probably never heard of before he got here!

For real.
I think that's why I don't fck with him. Mf won the genetics lottery - just casually decided he'll be an nba player. Fck him for being blessed. I'm jealous af.

You're sarcasm meter is broken. Not to say Sims hasn't played better than a warm body though. He was a positive on the floor with his own play at times. Miracles do happen if you look hard enough!

He could have played a few more minutes last night too. Thibs played 7 dudes basically and one only played 12 minutes. Meanwhile he's got Bridges in there the ENTIRE GAME up 20+ at times.

Bridges 47!!!
OG 40
KAT 39
Hart 38
McBride 28
Brunson 27*
Precious 12
Sims 3**

*Brunson left the game and no mention of what's going on yet but, something happened.

**GT. Really? That's it? 6.5 man rotation?

It's gonna be a problem if this keeps up. OG has random injury concerns every year. KAT has missed time as well. You gotta do better when you have 20pt leads against scrub teams. Do we really need to test the iron man abilities Mikal has? It's over the top to me and I'm not gonna debate it but, I apparently can't ignore it either. DAMN YOU GULLY!

Bruised ribs. Thibs said he could have come back if we needed him.

:o JESUS! I knew I missed something.

Who we got next? DET? Rest him. Deuce can play 48 minutes next to Mikal and we got 42 each from Hart/OG/KAT. Precious can drop a fat 12 and we can play Sims 6 minutes. Problem solved.

i got nothin to do with this. nor does my hall of fame coach.
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

if there's anybody thibs trusts besides hart, it's mitch. i think he's going to be more fluid than we're used to seeing playing with lineup combinations having mitch back along with precious. our starters will have more opportunities to stagger minutes because there will be an offensive option out there at all times but we won't need to go full torque to hold on because elite rebounding and defense will be taken care of

I know I say it a lot but, it's the whole truth if this team wants to win a chip this year. WE NEED TO BE HEALTHY FOR THE PLAYOFFS. There could/should/will be enough bullets in the gun to beat ANYONE if that's the case. It should be the biggest focus of the season. I have to say it has not been the case but, part of it is because we have NOT been fully healthy yet. Thibs is a mad man so, we just need to hope the stars align for us. EVERYTHING else is in place IMO.

I see plenty of chatter about trading the Big Possum.

it seems to me that the only room for improvement is on D at this point.

why trade one of the best defensive bigs in the game before he's even had a chance to show what kind of impact he could have?

I should probably go back and quote the original post. My problem with this is, I think we need Mitch too. Mitch makes us better when he's on the court.

I'm not eager to trade him, or precious, despite all the rumors. I like what we have now.

So do I so lets get a wing to keep em healthy.

But who?

Shamet, when he gets healthy?

Make a trade? Who do we trade? We don't have a lot of spare pieces to move.

You can't sh.it on Thibs when players have defended him and how a lot of them have career years under him. We can sh.it on him for the disgusting minutes distribution.

Availability is the best ability. People don't trust him and, I don't blame them. He is always hurt.

I don't think we do.

Maybe at the end of the season for salary purposes. Things are getting tight. But now? When his value's low? Nah.

imo primary reason is because he’s never available. Second is because it hurts our offense. I’d rather play like OKC and have guys out there who are a threat offensively at every position all the time.

I suggested Mitch (& Ryan) for DFS…. I think we’d be even more deadly making a move like that at the deadline. Maybe have to toss one of those protected picks we got left in. After that, bring Shamet back and call up TJ to go deep for the playoff run and keep our starters fresh…

Jalen | Cam | Kolek
Mikal | Deuce
Hart | Shamet | Dadiet
OG | DFS | Warren
KAT | Precious| Sims | Huk

Yeah all of the different combinations we could have are really interesting, both for staggering KAT & Jalen's minutes:

McBride/Payne - Hart/Bridges/McBride - Anunoby/Hart/Bridges - Towns - Robinson/Achiuwa
McBride/Payne - Bridges/McBride - Hart/Bridges - Anunoby/Hart - Towns
Brunson - Bridges/McBride/Payne - Hart/Bridges/McBride - Anunoby/Hart - Robinson/Achiuwa

...as well as for matching different opponents' closing lineups:

Brunson - Hart/Bridges/McBride - Anunoby - Towns - Robinson/Achiuwa
Brunson - Bridges/McBride - Hart/Bridges - Anunoby/Hart - Towns

We should be able to win almost any type of game with some iteration of those lineups. Whether that's going big or small; a rockfight or a shootout; against teams that try to go 5-out or ones kill you in the paint; we should have answers to all of it...when healthy & gelled.
