They simply don't have the pieces to put together a winning formula at the highest level.

Guys not part of the future (RJ and Poeltl) getting traded should help.

Don't be too quick to judge. But this upcoming trade deadline will rival 2023 (Poeltl) deadline in importance on the team's future. Judge after it

I like RJ as a 4th option or 6th man.

More ways than drafting top 3 to put together that winning formula. We want as high a pick as we can get because it increases those odds, but not getting a top 5 pick doesn't mean the rebuild is likely to fail. Not even close.

I think you are huffing some insane copium if you think RJ will be traded within the next calendar year.

The only way I can picture it is if a swingman like Tre Johnson or someone like that goes on a meteoric rise, becomes the best prospect in this draft, and Raptors win the draft lotto, even then I'm pretty certain it wouldn't happen right away.

Highly unlikely trade to occur.

it's ironic that most tankers don't seem to like RJ, even though he was the 3rd pick and still young. Most on here would've been willing to tank an entire season for a chance to draft him. And he's not even a bust, he's putting up fringe allstar numbers.

RJ is most certainly part of the future due to his production and nationality. His value will always be the highest here.

Why hang onto an existing 3rd overall pick who is showing signs of breaking out at 24, when you can gamble on a mystery box 3rd overall pick who might be even better!

I don’t think RJ gets traded this season either. I don’t think other teams believe he’s a winning player. It’s like the Lavine situation. Teams know he’s an empty calorie guy with some major flaws that impact winning. We need to try and build his value up before we trade him.

he could become a manu type player off the bench if he's willing to accept that

sure on his current contract....his next contract is going to be too big to have him off the bench.

Yeah in the next year is a bit much, but if we get bailey then I dont think it's unreasonable to think he'd be expendable.

Maybe Bailey as well. Though I am quite low on him in all honesty. I see the ceiling but don't think it's likely think you're more likely to get an inefficient volume scorer not unlike RJ honestly (Will get his points in a different way). To me that dude's upside more Brandon Ingram than KD or Tmac.

Argument could be made people overreact to beating teams that are struggling....Pacers/T-Wolves Etc....If we are not even able to compete against the really good teams in the league what are we doing here? Beating up on the really bad teams or teams just struggling atm who will prolly be better than us come playoff time? ....Its really a lose/lose situation cause we are beating up on the bottom feeders but getting demolished by the actual good teams in the league....Nothing to celebrate about that.

Having a couple of really good young players including a franchise cornerstone, having an incoming lottery pick, and having an amazing pipeline of depth and midtier assets coming through due to go at least 4/5 on draft picks in the most recent draft, is worth celebrating.

The direction of the team is pretty good rn.

Honestly, if RJ was just as inefficient, but could score at 3 levels, he would be a better player. Definitely not seeing an all time offensive player like KD, but he looks like a step up.

I wouldnt call him inefficient either, he's putting 19ppg on 47/38/80 splits.
